I ate at this restaurant last year and was really impressed by the Bresse chicken. That’s why I decided to return this time with my parents to let them try it too. However, since we had already enjoyed plenty of wine and food earlier at a local market, we weren’t very hungry. So we ordered two glasses of wine, two main courses, and two side dishes, which we felt was more than enough. To our surprise, the server repeatedly questioned why three people were only ordering for two. I explained that we weren’t very hungry, but she insisted we order dessert or chees as well. I was honestly shocked. I declined.
As far as I know, there is no French law that says three people must order three full meals in a restaurant. I believe wasting food is shameful. We were respectful, not loud, and still spent nearly €90. What’s the problem with ordering for two when three people simply aren’t that hungry?
