We spent 8 days in lovely Cassis with the beautiful sea view from pool deck and terrace. However the whole thing was spoilt by the behaviour of the husband and wife owners, who live on site and would be more suited to running a boot camp than a guest house. The husband seemed a little preoccupied with coming into the rooms to inexplicably unplug any chargers, and there had been several very audible shouting matches between the owners during our stay. Unfortunately my sons girlfriend ended up on crutches as she broke her foot during our stay and there was not much sympathy when it came to 11am checkout. They eventually agreed for them to check out the room and then stay round the pool for the afternoon as they had a late flight. At precisely 11.00 am the wife arrived with a cleaner to service our room but I was running a few mins late and needed a shower, so asked for 5 mins which the wife agreed to. However at 11.03 the husband stormed uninvited right into the middle of our room, witnessed by his wife, the cleaner and my son. With me rinsing off just behind a shower curtain, he started profusely shouting loudly at my wife about being late as he was paying for cleaners to start at 11 and complaining that the kitchenette area was not put away (although we had done the washing up) If it had been my wife in the shower it could have been considered sexual harassment. He left after a couple of minutes of raging, with everyone left shocked and my wife traumatized and feeling abused. It was outrageous behavior, of which I have never seen the like, and needless to say they reneged on the agreement to stay later round the pool, so we were out of there by 11.07am sitting on the road with the girlfriend on crutches.

A beautiful establishment in a great setting, with a lovely pool, a fine breakfast, even though it has very steep steps for anyone with mobility issues the view is delightful. On the downside the steep steps walk down to the town takes 15 minutes, at night these steps are dark and treacherous. You also have to have a code to get in and out of the gated hill area that this place is based, if you are a large party this can be an issue. Unfortunately my whole experience here was marred by the downright bizarre rude treatment I personally received on the last day from Jean, the owner,. On check out day at 11am with the cleaning ladies outside happy to wait a few minutes for us and we with just about to exit- in marches Jean at 11.04 into the room in a Basil Fawlty manner, starts shouting French crazily at me a small 5ft, elderly lady 60 plus in a loud, uncontrolled manner, stabbing madly at this watch, gesticulating wildly- pointing at the kitchen in the room. This diatribe lasted 2 minutes then he struts outs out leaving me and my son flabbergasted. We left sharpish. Most places in France are relaxed, happy to accommodate guests for an extra few minutes, for a call of nature to use the bathroom facilities -as there is no outside toilets here at this establishment even though there is a gym, and a peton court!!. We as a total family of 5 spent several thousand Euros on this accommodation and did not expect this treatment as soon as you had taken our money. We overheard the owners have two explosive arguments whilst we were there maybe that caused this shoddy behaviour. No customer should receive this abuse I was deeply upset by this incident.
