Nous avons passé un agréable séjour avec notre fille de 10 mois.
La chambre était très spacieuse et propre. La literie impeccable et confortable. Sans parler du lieu qui est charmant.
Nous avons été très bien accueillis.
Je souligne la gentillesse du personnel, très à l'écoute et arrangeant, surtout avec nos contraintes avec bébé.
Nous avons rarement rencontré des hôtes aussi accueillants. Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps !

This place looks pretty impressive on its website but is actually even better in reality.||Within the environs of the River Dronne, modern accommodation is located inside some mature buildings surrounding the original mill which still has an operational waterwheel. An extensive area of well kept parkland links the property to the riverbank. The houses which make up this small estate are centuries old and have real architectural character individually and as a random group. First impression on arrival is the noise; thunderous water either by the waterwheel or via the weir the other side of the main building.|| In fact, our room (the Alexandra) was on the first floor of, what was, presumably, the former mill. We had a great riverside and park view from our roomy terrace, complete with good quality loungers, large umbrella, and upholstered garden furniture. The interior was perfectly comfortable and suitably functional; basically, a large bedroom with an adjacent bathroom/shower. No problems sleeping here due to the large welcoming bed and the perfect soundproofing. The decor was peaceful and the air-conditioning was responsive. A kettle was supplied upon request and although there is a minibar, no beers are supplied - a minor wrinkle. Plenty of room too in the adjacent bathroom which has a separate W.C. and a shower with a sub-floor shower tray so no leakage - hooray. Also had my first experience with a very effective hairdrying wand; a big step forward. ||Breakfasts are taken on the external terrace of the Moulin's restaurant which is almost encircled by the river and has a pleasant view overlooking the park. Everything is served personally by the owners and their very charming assistants. Not a lot of variance but all quality items especially the bread and pastries. Best of all was the freshly made crepes which were quite swoonsome. There's a rather more intimate internal dining room which is used when the weather necessitates. The restaurant itself is well worth a visit - it's very highly regarded by its competitors.||In terms of car parking, within the group of Moulin properties there are four easily accessible spots in the centre of the complex and a couple more less so nearby. Several more spots are available outside the main gates and are a good alternative option.||The Moulin seems quite isolated but is only a few minutes' drive (or even a 20 minute walk on a dedicated path) to Brantome. This is a splendid place to use as a base; picturesque, loads of restaurants, plenty of parking which is free after 7.p.m., and central for much of the Perigord region.||We were very pleased that we stayed at the Moulin. The estate is splendidly unique, the owning family are delightful and all admin before and after was spot on.||An excellent choice, and we're more than happy to recommend.

We were disappointed with our stay having read all the amazing reviews. There were some good points eg the warm welcome, beautiful setting and lovely swimming pool but the decor of our room was tired and dated. There was a strong smell of damp on arrival caused by an ageing and inefficient shower mat. The room was gloomy and the bed linen and bathrobes were worn. It was hard to keep the bathroom floor dry. The whole experience was uncomfortable and we felt that the room was overpriced compared to other places we stayed. The breakfast was also overpriced and lacked quality and variety.

Brantôme ne manque pas d’hébergements de toutes catégories mais celui-ci a un charme particulier.
À l’écart de l’affluence on a l’impression d’être en pleine nature, alors qu’on peut rejoindre la « Venise du Périgord » à pied, en 15 mn.
Installé en partie sur la rivière (c’est un moulin comme son nom l’indique) il faut avant tout signaler la gentillesse des hôtes qui ne manqueront pas de répondre à toutes vos attentes et questions.
Malgré le bruit de la rivière, les chambres sont très calmes et l’on y dort bien.
Nous n’avons pu tester le restaurant (qui ne fonctionne que sur réservation) et qui affichait complet lors de notre passage. Les petits-déjeuners sont excellents, grâce à la fraîcheur des produits et on y passerait bien plus que le temps nécessaire…
La piscine et le grand parc ajoutent au charme de l’établissement.
