I can’t thank them enough, merci boucoup for the exceptionally and incredibly kind and special hospitality!! We felt like we experienced Provence just that extra bit more, from Gabrielle picking us up in her Citroen Deux Chevaux from the near by station, providing sun hats and cake upon arrival, delicious rosé with olive tapenade and breadsticks, a fridge for guests filled with all the apricots you could dream of, lending us bikes for a bike ride, and even showing us the nearby Peyrassol Estate.
From fresh eggs from Gabrielles chickens to the local wine, to sourdoughs at breakfast with cheese, yogurt, fruit, and a sweet treat everything was wholesome and delicious!! We had Gabrielle’s home cooked dinner one night which was super yummy, with seasonal produce and the company made it even better ☺️
Gabrielle says that nature is queen at Les Pierre Sauvages as it very much is. I’ve never seen so many butterflies! The feel throughout is ‘Provençal rustic’, every element chosen with love and care. The rooms are cool and crisp, with smooth concrete floors and light linens. Air con is very welcome in the summer! Bathrooms have a good pressure on the shower - local olive soap is provided too but bring your own shampoo etc ☺️
The views are delightful with nothing but vineyards and trees and sky and the sounds of cicadas. As the road to Les Pierres Sauvages is very up and down and wobbly, it’s a bit more difficult to access but does mean it’s nicely secluded. You can also get there by foot through the vineyards as a shortcut ☺️ the nearby town is Besse Sur Issole which was charming with a few very tasty restaurants. We walked there in 14mins but as it’s countryside and not always proper pavements, you might want a car!
All in all we had the most relaxing time at Les Pierre Sauvages (spent most of the time in the sun by the pool!) which truly felt like our home away from home! Merci Gabrielle and Gilles (and Pipette and Pompette! ????⬛????)
On reviendra bientôt..
