Very interesting story on how the tank was found deep underground and recovered. Also very personal tales of the troops involved. Such a unique design of building which itself is partially underground. Highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Very interesting despite being a smallish museum. Genuine WWI tank and related artifacts, and history of the weapon that changed the tactics of war.

20. Nov. 1998 auf einem Feld in der Nähe ausgegraben. Deborah und die Artefakte sind ausgestellt. Die Besatzung liegt neben an auf dem Militärfriedhof.

Wonderful little museum, definitely worth the trip and the €6 entry fee! Skip the big museums and go here instead. The museum tells the story of D51 Deborah, the tank pictured here, which makes up the main room. The display is stunningly lit and preserved, the best preserved WWI tank in existence. You can still smell the fuel and see oil dripping from the engine onto the museum floor. Definitely the most tactile experience of WWI I've had in a museum.

There are three films to watch about the history history of the area, the battle, and the discovery and excavation of this tank and plenty of space to sit if you are with a tour group. There are also interactive displays with broken off parts of the tank and scale models of battles and tanks.

There are also detailed profiles of the crew of Deborah, with photos and artefacts from their time at war. Some of the crew are buried in the graveyard above the museum, it's well worth the 5 minute walk up there and through the peace gardens to visit. The graves are III B8 and III B9, if you would like to find them quicker than we did!

Témoignage émouvant de la guerre de 14-18.
Le musée est centré autour d'une carcasse de char. Ce prétexte qui pourrait sembler mince, permet de raconter de façon passionnante le premier engagement de tanks à large échelle.
C'est un musée comme je les aime. Il raconte une histoire.

Great little museum dedicated to the WW1 British tank ‘Deborah’. This tank was relatively recently discovered and is nicely displayed here together with the story of its service in the Battle of Cambrai and its subsequent discovery and preservation.

Made a visit to this museum. Met Philipe who blew us away with his knowledge and passion. What a pleasure to meet a man with so much passion about a first world war tank that he found, Dug up and saved from the ravages of time.
My colleagues Matt and Phil enjoyed it as much as i did.

Des passionnés ont permis au tank anglais de la première guerre mondiale d'être exposé dans ce musée.
La mise en scène est volontairement simple, mettant ainsi en valeur l'acteur principal "Déborah" tank de la bataille de Cambrai en 1917.
Cette machine nous renvoie la violence des combats et le courage des soldats.
Grâce aux vidéos et documents présentés, nous sommes sensibilisés à cette période de notre histoire de France. Visite à faire
