MAISON D’HÔTES ET GÎTE LA RÉSERVE

What a magical place, everything was absolutely gorgeous. 5 min drive from Giverny’s center, the house and surroundings are breathtaking, with beautiful details everywhere. The room, considered the smallest, was lovely and very spacious, and having other areas to spend time in- the gorgeous living room and gardens, was a delight. Breakfast was fantastic, and even when we arrived we received wonderful cake and tea, which was a really nice touch. Above all, Valerie and Marie’s hospitality and effort to make everything so welcoming, made our stay amazing and luxurious. A special treat were all the lovely animals- the donkies, Racin the cat and Cezzane the dog :) Merci beaucoup pour tout !

Happened upon this place completely by accident, but the experience was a total joy. The house and grounds are delightful and quirky. The dining room is charming, and breakfast absolutely excellent.

Exceeded all expectations. A most beautiful property located in extensive grounds just outside the main village of Giverny. A extremely quiet and tranquil environment. The rooms were huge and the entire property tastefully decorated. A delicious breakfast with a variety of choice. After breakfast on our first morning we had intended to walk to the village of Giverny as we did not have a car, however, it was raining and the path deemed to be slippery. A most kind fellow guest offered to drive us which was much appreciated. Impeccable hosts who went the extra mile to make ours a memorable visit. Thank you Valérie for your kindness and hospitality.

Plus. Everything. La Manoir is so beautiful. The property was large and well kept. There are tables to relax and enjoy the scenery.
Room: Clean and comfortable with lots of space. The shower was clean with no water pressure or hot water issues.
Dining room: Exquisite and inviting. On each side there were tables laid out with special treats ~ just waiting for someone to enjoy! And in the morning, it all came alive with an assortment of fresh bread, cheeses, coffee, tea, meats, etc.
Breakfast: Delicious. Valerie offered every guest eggs.
Minus. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
Good to know. When you arrive at the property you will come to a gate. We got out of the car and walked around it and flagged someone who was in the garage. No biggie. Just mentioning so you don’t sit in the car and start honking!
Fact: We spent 10 days in France and every one of them was very nice and good. BUT, with everyone one we said, “It sure ain’t Valerie’s.” (Valerie runs La Manoir)
Worthy to mention: As I was admiring all the furnishings, Valerie approached me with her sweet smile. “Would you like some cider?” I happily accepted. “Inside or outside?” Outside, she brought us a bottle of homemade cider that needed its top popped like champaign! Then she came back with a freshly baked tart that she had just made. Enough for all 4 of us. What a surprise it was!
