A wonderful experience. A well maintained authentic place and a lovely host. It's a picture perfect place all in all. Tasty breakfast is a guarantee. Just plan your visit and prepare for lunch and dinner around the place. It's little isolated and takes a 30 minutes drive to get anything.

Superbe séjour passé au chateau de la Ballue|Les hôtes étaient très disponible, la chambre magnifique et tres confortable et le petit déjeuner complet et délicieux.|Les jardins entourant le chateau mon aussi magnifiques tout comme l'intérieur du chateau.|En bref je recommande très fortement un séjour au chateau de la Ballue.

Nous avons eu un réel coup de cœur pour ce lieu, rempli d’histoire et de décors authentiques. Les propriétaires des lieux nous ont réservé un très bel accueil et nous ont permis de vraiment nous sentir à l’aise. Les bains nordiques, la balade dans les jardins, le petit déjeuner dans la magnifique salle à manger… tout était génial. Un grand merci à nos hôtes, nous espérons avoir la chance de revenir un jour!

L'association a passé un moment exceptionnel au château. La propriétaire a été adorable et nous a permis d'organiser un évènement costumé dans le merveilleux parc de ce château.
Tout était absolument parfait et nous avons pu prendre un goûter dans le salon de thé. Une journée idyllique!

We were two couples who stayed for 4 nights at the castle and all of us absolutely loved our experience there. The building itself is beautiful, and the owners have taken exceptional care to make the interiors not only aesthetically charming, but also warm and welcoming. The gardens are simply stunning - anyone interested in gardening should definitely make a trip here to see the Italian, French & English sections of the huge garden. We particularly enjoyed the chance to go to a sauna in the garden, with a hot tub right next to it. The breakfast is wonderful, and we were also impressed by the well-stocked honour bar in the salon. The cherry on top of the cake is the family and staff who run the place - always friendly, professional and accommodating. We had a simply perfect stay in one of the most beautiful places we frequent travelers have ever been to - highly recommended! Merci!!

Cette demeure est merveilleusement décorée, l’âme d’antan y est conservée et la famille propriétaire est aux petits soins. Les jardins sont exceptionnels, une mention spéciale pour le spa, jacuzzi et sauna, très agréable en hiver dans cette belle nature. Nous reviendrons !

My husband and I stayed here overnight as we explored the Normandy area. The rooms and chateau are gorgeous! The pictures you find online do not encapsulate the grandeur and history of the location! The bed in the Diana room is amazing. The food prepared just for us in the morning was probably the best in France and we were there for a week. Try the home made yogurt and fresh fruit salad. Amazing! We also met the owner who is gracious and spoke perfect English to accommodate our passable French. She is just as lovely as the grounds!!

I do need to mention the cattle that are located just off the property. I am not sure if it is a slaughter house? Or. Working farm? But the manure smell made walking the grounds almost unbearable. It could have been the time of year (End of October) or a new addition to the area. Just feel like the reviews I read never mentioned it.

Also, the list of restaurants near by are out dated (some are closed) and we happened upon Phil …a Table restaurant by Chef Phil that had the best food. Amazing place. If you arrive late you will either be driving 15 min out to randomly find food, or going to bed hungry. The owner did offer the kitchen to us, but since it wasn’t included in the price we didn’t want to impose. She really is a lovely woman.

Don’t hesitate to stay! Just be aware of some of the areas shortcomings.

I took my fiancee there for her birthday and could not have asked for a better stay! The drive to the Chateau was beautiful and peaceful. Walking into the grounds was breathtaking. Walking around the gardens was stunning. We really enjoyed exploring and learning the history of the place. Marie and her team were incredible! They fed us an awesome brunch. They brought us hot chocolate when we asked. And were super accommodating throughout the entire weekend. My fiancee had the best birthday ever! Marie was super responsive as I planned everything. I could not recommend more highly!

A magical and delightful place to stay and to step back in time to a quieter more peaceful world. Although hidden in the countryside it is very easy to visit all the local towns and the north coast of Brittany however personal transport essential.|Bedrooms charming and my sole reservation was the lack of a proper shower in the bathroom. There is no dining room however breakfasts were excellent and plenty of restaurants in local villages. My advice would be to indulge in a spectacular sea food lunch each day in Cancale or Dinard and then have a snack meal in the evening.|We will return and that is a better compliment than any written words.

Très beau château magnifique jardin a visité je n'aurai qu'un peu petit bémol à reprocher lors de la visite du château on ne visite pas l'étage donc les chambres ce qui gâche un petit peu la visite par contre la présentatrice et très sympathique et très dynamique très agréable elle nous fait partager tous les secrets de ce château

Une maison d’hôtes où rayonne une hospitalité familiale en même temps que professionnelle. Le petit déjeuner est somptueux, les thés (Nina’s) sont délicieux, les salons sont accueillants (livres, sièges, lumières et bien sûr la vue sur les jardins), les chambres vastes, de caractère et bien chauffées. Idéal pour se poser, lire, profiter de la piscine, explorer la Bretagne nord de Dinan au Mont Saint-Michel.

Magnifique demeure, merveilleux jardin hors du temps.|Des hôtes d'une extrême gentillesse|Une parenthèse enchantée |Nous n'avions pas envie de diner au restaurant ; nos hôtes nous ont préparé une petite table sous la tonnelle où nous avons pique-niquer.|La piscine est calme, grande et très reposante.

Une parenthèse bucolique dans trois magnifiques jardins aussi verdoyants que odorants. Le petit plus... finir votre ballade au salon de thé où de très sympathiques jeunes gens vous servent des boissons et surtout gâteaux à tomber ! Merci et ne changez rien ! A faire sans aucun doute

Nous avons passer un séjour littéralement enchanteur! Tout était parfait!|Entrer au château de La Ballue , c’est ouvrir les portes d’un autre monde où tout est luxe, calme et volupté. Ici tout porte au rêve, au repos et à la détente.|La maison, qui peut paraître de prime abord austère dans son habit de granite XVIIeme , offre intérieurement tout le charme , le confort et la lumière d’un intérieur XVIII éme que viennent briser quelques touches contemporaines. Tout ceci agencé avec un goût très sûr par la maîtresse des lieux Marie Francoise Mathiot -Mathon. |Et que dire du jardin! Une splendeur! ou passant tout d’abord par une géométrie très française qui nettoie l’esprit, on se perd ensuite dans différents espaces . Du jardins” tchekovien” avec ses bouleaux, à l’allée de tilleuls. Du labyrinthe de ifs au théâtre de verdure circulaire…J’ai retrouvé ces sensation d’enfance , quand je me perdais et disparaissais dans quelques recoins de campagne pour dévorer Dumas ou Barbey d’Aurevilly. Après cela il ne reste plus qu’à piquer une tête dans la piscine qui lá aussi est une réussite esthétique et ce fond admirablement dans le décor.|Et que dire de l’accueil extrêmement discret et attentif des propriétaires qui très rapidement et sans efforts vous donnent l’impression d’être chez eux, chez vous. |Nous avons passé une semaine magique! Bref, vous l’avez compris , nous avons aimé et y retournerons.

This is one of those places you'll think about for many years to come.|The gardens are sensational, merged between classic geometric formal gardens and a piece of modern art. You can get lost in them time and time again and every morning and evening we'd spend time wandering around discovering new areas.||We visited with our dog and he was made to feel welcome and loved all the smells and little hidden areas of the land. They have dogs on site but there were no issues and they are well behaved show winning dogs.||The owners are clearly in love with the site and have been there several decades with their sons now an integral part of the hotel operation. You felt like you were joining a family and they were always on hand to answer a question or cut you a slice of cake from the excellent tea rooms on site.||The rooms are fabulously eccentric with strong colour choices, tall ceilings and old furniture. Our room didn't have a stand up shower which I knew when booking but it added to the experience of being in a chateau. There are no TV's to distract you and you just have to wander around, look out of the windows, explore the charming little towns or go for a swim in the newly installed big heated outdoor pool.||Breakfast is another hilight,it's of home made/grown items like the honey, yoghurt and eggs with plenty of choice.||There is no restaurant on site although you can get a meat and bread platter from to order or bring your own food back if you wish.||I'd go back in a heartbeat and it's a fabulous place to forget about the modern world.

Ce lieu est un merveilleux enchantement pour les yeux mais aussi pour l ouïe et l odorat. Quant au salon de thé... vous y trouverez de nombreuses gourmandises assurément !
