We had my son’s birthday dinner here. It was our first visit and had reserved seating outside (which had amazing ocean views) but it was a little too chilly for my parents. It was so great that they were able to move us inside (party of 8) with no wait! Food was amazing! Service was great! They even gave us a complimentary birthday dessert! Espresso martini was soooo good! I had the miso glazed cod dish which was SO yummy!!! Food portions were great too! The sunset was so pretty! Would definitely be back again!

The view is amazing! The service was really good but the food was just ok. It’s worth while if you want the environment, but if you’re really looking for a phenomenal bite… I might pick something else. My husband had a crab and lobster ravioli special and my daughter had miso cod fish, and then they shared the tiramisu, both didn’t feel great a few hours later. I had an off menu garlic and olive oil pasta with grilled shrimp and then the chocolate lava cake and felt fine but didn’t feel like it was the best meal ever.

Although the view is beautiful, Moonshadows is completely overpriced and gave my boyfriend and I horrible food poisoning that lasted for more than 24 hours. Wr ordered 4 plates of raw fish- the octopus, ahi tuna steak, tuna tartar, and the oysters. Each dish came out extremely quickly, in a way that alarming not impressive. That was the first red flag. Each dish did not taste good either- and they were expensive, as well as very poor quality fish. Yet, for six oysters we paid $23... I don't know how this place has good reviews, maybe it used to be good. But with bad, overpriced food that gives you food poisoning, I would not recommend this to anyone.

Amazing place for a romantic outing with the wife.
The atmosphere was very pleasant, our food was delicious with the drinks.
Customer service was very kind.

Great restaurant, nicely located on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, we got some appetizers ( fried calamari, lobster and tiger shrimp salad, little neck clams) all the appetizers were delicious!!!
For dinner I had chicken (I’m not too crazy about seafood) and my wife had Tiger Shrimp Rigatoni Pasta, dinner were delicious as well, we highly recommend Moonshadows if you are in the Malibu Area. Almost forgott to mention that the view of the Pacific Ocean is great!!!! (Only Valet Parking)

Try to ask for a view that’s not obstructed. Went with the fish and it was mighty tasty. Good section of wine and great service. Check em out I did.

We ordered rib eye steak medium rare. The first time it was served, it was overcooked. The service was really good since when we pointed it out, they changed it for us immediately. However, the second time it was served, the steak was served as rare. It was either undercooked or overcooked. I We just pointed out that the chef needs more training.

The other dish we ordered is miso cod. It was a bit too salty for me. Compared with the steak, it was ok. The crab cake doesn’t have too much flavor.

The view is great. Wine is ok. I feel like the place is overhyped. If we can just come here to grab a drink and some snacks would be perfect for a chill afternoon.

One of my favorite restaurants in Malibu! The food is good, portions are filling and the atmosphere is unmatched! You will definitely be pleased with the experience.

Awesome place right by the ocean! We had some amazing Pineapple mojitos with our brunch. Saw a herd of dolphins swimming by. The food was great! Perfect lobster, just one point here it would be great to have it a bit warmed up and seasoned, but brioche was on point! We def will be back and would recommend it????

Service was good, food was subpar. Cesar salad bland with pepperidge farms croutons. Had an extremely over cooked steak with extremely average mashed potatoes. My wife salmon was dry as a piece of jerky and fingerling potatoes were unforgivable.

The interior last saw an update in the early 70's.

Mastros prices with Sizzler quality food.

Sweetest staff!!???? Amazing vegan GF options on their menu (beet salad, risotto, Thai curry) and great drinks, really lovely staff!!! We had such a beautiful date evening here with the warm fire heaters.???? Also, we were staying literally a couple of houses down from where Moonshadows is, at an airbnb, and having brought various ingredients to make hummus one of the days, and after already needing to Doordash tahini, we finally began to make the hummus only to realize we needed some lemon juice!???? I thought I’d try checking if Moonshadows had any lemons that I might be able to randomly purchase (I presumed they would for their bar!), and they kindly gave it to me on the house???? ..They were also awesome when we had guests over last night and realized there was no water filter in the house and my bf had to run and get several bottles of water!????

I've dined and had several lovely lunches at Moonshadows. However, during my most recent visit (February 11) I sadly left my CHANEL glasses behind. I called the next day to confirm if they had been found and was told they found them. The woman (Ashley) on the phone verified the location of where I was sitting to match the place where my sunglasses were found. I thanked her and told her I would pick them up. I drove from Santa Barbara to find out my glasses were picked up by someone else!!! What?? I asked the manager for an explanation and he tried to make excuses of why my sunglasses were given to someone else who according to him described them in detail. I'm beyond disappointed and frustrated ! The manager (Alessandro) then proceeded to ask me for a receipt of my sunglasses!! Are you kidding me??
They give away any valuable items to random people?? There's no verification to claim a lost item?? I expect an explanation from this establishment! I haven't heard back from the Alessandro. I expect further investigation into who claimed my sunglasses and who gave them away! This is unacceptable!

Beautiful ocean view.

The server was impeccable and saved the situation somehow, but it took the chef 40 minutes to prepare the salmon.

The waiter was disrespectful and rude .I was celebrating my birthday with my family and honestly I couldn't really enjoy the food or drinks. The waiter was rude from the beginning, once it was time to pay the bill he started acting nice. He even brought out a small cake for me, but honestly it was one of the worst experiences. Maybe he was tired or maybe someone had already ruined his day. The food was good the man that actually brought out the plates was a really sweet man I didn't get his name but he was different than our waiter. The receipt said that our waiters name was( Johnny) .
