On our trip to Lisbon, we had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Valverde Hotel located in the heart of the city. The hotel staff were exceptional and always went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. If you are a food lover, we highly recommend the hotel's restaurant, as the food and service was fantastic.

During my trip to Lisbon, I was fortunate enough to spend some time at Valverde Lisboa, and I couldn’t imagine a better place from which to explore Lisbon and its many historical highlights.

Without question among the most elegant stays in Lisbon, the sophisticated Valverde Hotel on Avenida da Liberdade feels like an opulent noble house, where the household is now welcoming guests who are keen to explore their beautiful city; Lisboa.

With 48 rooms crafted to perfection, spacious public living areas teeming with fascinating art objects, an excellent and diverse breakfast spread, and a wonderful staff that provides impeccable hospitality and unrivalled attention to detail, a stay at Valverde will make you feel as if you’re part of the Valverde family.

It’s an oasis of comfort and discreet luxury in the heart of a city that is buzzing from dusk till dawn, and the perfect place to enjoy some relaxation after a superb day of sightseeing.

We booked the Valverde for a few nights in November, so that we could enjoy some pre-Christmas city life. The location, on Avenida da Liberdade (Lisbon's equivalent of the Champs-Élysées) was ideal. We could park the car in a reasonably priced nearby spot and were within walking distance of central Lisbon and some other interesting neighbourhoods.

The staff were extremely welcoming from the moment we arrived and, unprompted, offered us what they described as a "chunky" upgrade to a rather magnificent first floor room, overlooking the Avenida.

Breakfast at the hotel was a combination of continental 'buffet' items and a menu of kitchen-prepared dishes, mostly based on eggs (as you'd expect). There was both indoor and outdoor seating available, but mornings in the verdant garden were a bit chilly in November, so only the smokers went outside.

We didn't eat dinner at the hotel (we will next time) because we loved exploring the many restaurants in walking distance. The hotel staff were more than keen to recommend places and make the bookings on our behalf. As a consequence, we discovered amazing venues that we would otherwise have missed.

The hotel is in both an historic building and a new rear extension, but both parts blend seamlessly, with beautiful and well considered decor throughout a multitude of public rooms and snug spaces. When you need a quiet spot to read or enjoy a Portuguese craft beer, you've plenty of choice.

The street outside is home to international high end fashion brands and people watching from one of the many kiosks is a must. If you're lucky, you may be entertained with live music or, like us, find yourself in the midst of an inpromptu tea dance. The location is definitely one of Valverde's selling points.

Finally, we were told that the same company has opened a place in the Portuguese countryside. We'll be heading there in 2024!

Che dire … una vera chicca nel centro di Lisbona . Hotel lusso , arredi essenziali dal gusto raffinato , ambienti glamour … stupendo in tutto !

Rooms are spacious with comfortable bed and spacy bathroom.
Amenties in bathroom are Zenology.

Unfortunately, they do not fill mini bar, they “forget” to put all the towels when they replace them.

Breakfast service is very bad, they really need to work on hospitality.

Breakfast choice is very limited.

Room service does not have cold drinks.

Overall, due to bad service I would never choose this hotel again.

Experience does not follow their prices.

Great boutique hotel in a good location. Friendly staff (thank you Diogo).
The missing star is due to the very poor breakfast quality. Rooms need refreshing, especially the bathroom.
Still a nice place to stay.

Très bon dîner. Le personnel est vraiment sympathique.
Nous avons adoré le mélange de saveurs au dessert avec la soupe de chocolat accompagnée de sa boule de glace tomate coco piment.

L'endroit parfait pour un petit dîner romantique caché de tous, malgré son emplacement dans la court de l'hôtel l'ambiance et le service y est irréprochable.

Très bon restaurant dans un superbe cadre , une excellente cuisine élaborée et raffinée, avec un personnel et son chef de rang Mario professionnel, attentionné, et élégant. N’hésitez surtout pas c’est une excellente adresse.

Une adresse secrète, un patio très agréable à l’ombre des arbres, une équipe à l’écoute et très serviable, des plats délicieux avec un rapport qualité/prix incroyable (notamment le midi avec le menu lunch). Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Cadre design très agréable, menu du chef le midi avec un bon rapport qualité/prix mais service déplorable, hautain, la réduction n’a pas été appliquée et il y avait 2 erreurs dans l’addition je suis parti en payant alors qu’il y avait toujours une erreur, mauvaise expérience , dommage qu’ils ne savent pas gérer leur personnel

Bien installés dans le petit patio, avec lampes chauffantes et plaid à disposition, nous avons profité d'un très bons moment coupés des bruits de la ville autour d'un très bon repas.
Petite mention spéciale pour les pailles comestibles dans le thé glacé maison.
Le personnel était très sympathique et aux petits soins.

Cadre magnifique. Service parfait, nous avons eu la chance d'avoir un serveur qui parlait très bien français. Malgré le cadre très classe l'ambiance n'est pas du tout guindée.
Les plats étaient tous très bons. Et les prix plutôt corrects pour le cadre.

Cadre très sympa et personnel très agréable. En revanche la cuisine n'avait rien d'extraordinaire et le plat principal était même décevant.

Un petit bijou d’hôtel ...Magnifique adresse pour ce boutique hôtel. L'entrée donne sur l'avenue de la liberté, reposante et à une quinzaine de minutes à pied des places de Lisbonne. A noter l'arrêt de bus pour l'aéroport en face de l'hôtel.
