532 yılında inşaatı başlanan, 537 yılımda biten ve Justinyanüs'ün, açılış gününde "hey Süleyman, işte bugun seni yendim" dediği, istanbulun 2019 yılı a kadar en büyük mabedi olan muhteşem yapı, AyaSofya. Bugun ziyaret ettiğimiz bina tam 1487 yaşında, yıllara meydan okumuş muhteşem bir eser. Bir dönem Hristiyanlığın mabedi, skizmadan sonra yüzyıllarca Ortodox dünyasının merkezi, yüzyıllarca camii olan bu muhteşem yapı günümüzde hem cami hem müze statüsünde. Üst galerisi müze olan bu etkileyici mekana giriş ücreti 25 euro, gün içerisinde sadece Müslümanlara açık olan alt kat ise ibadetlerin yapıldığı, ücretsiz alan. Ziyaret edilmesi gereken, İstanbula gelince ziyaret edilmesi gereken muhteşem bir başyapıt.

Türklere öncelik tanınması çok güzel olmuş içerinin atmosferinden bahsetmeye gerek bile yok mutlaka gidilmesi gereken bir yer. Ayakkabılıklar daha güvenli olsa daha mutlu olurdum.

A large mosque having a couple of beautiful mosaics. Not much to see beyond the huge romantic structure in the paid turistic section. On the other hand if one respectfully enters the prayer section (free of charge, shoes off, silence, modest clothing) one can experience the true significance of this edifice and its true magnificence.

Disposable head scarfs available at ticket office for cheap. Line up for tickets, even though some websites say it's free it does cost for adults to enter. Then line up to go inside. Separate entries through security for male and female.

Majestueuse

Les longues files d’attente ne doivent pas vous décourager.
La mosquée est magnifique, ce qui surprend le plus, c’est le calme et la sérénité qui règnent à l’intérieur, malgré l’affluence.
Il ne faut pas omettre d’aller voir les tombeaux des sultans disposés derrière la mosquée. Ils sont superbement décorés.

beauté architecturale

lieu chargée d'histoire et d'émotion , basilique-mosquée. (j'ai de la chance de la voir en tant que musée et cette année en tant que mosquée et trop love de la couleur du tapis de la mosquée) pour moi ça reste un des chefs d'oeuvre architectural à voir absolument au moins une fois et en plus depuis que c'est une mosquée c'est devenu gratuit d'ailleurs comme toutes les autres mosquées (générosité et beauté de l'Islam ce qui peux expliquer entre autre la foule ...)
mais pour profiter pleinement et éviter la foule vaut mieux venir tôt le matin

A visiter

De passage à Istanbul pour une journée, je ne regrette pas la visite de Sainte-Sophie. Un mélange de cultures règne à l'intérieur de l'impressionnante basilique/mosquée, il faut en découvrir chaque recoin. Montez à l'étage pour admirer les fresques murales, c'est ce qui m'a le plus impressionné. Il faut la visiter.
