GRAN HOTEL INGLÉS

Booked this hotel after reviews on Trip Advisor and if you’re like me - please LOOK NO FURTHER - this is the place to stay in Madrid. Travelled with my wife for a two week trip to Spain and our first stop was the Gran Hotel Inglés in Madrid. We arrived at 8am after flying all night and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We were offered drinks and quickly got checked in - our room was ready and we went straight up without any fuss. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The beds were great - no back pain for this traveller.

The concierge helped us arrange a private tour of the Palace (HIGHLY recommend if you are interested in the history of Spain and the Monarchy - our guide was incredible - Alfonso - whole experience took about 2 hours and was well worth the money), and a sunset dinner at Cornamusa - this was their recommendation and WOW - one of the best dining experiences of my life - HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

The concierge service is seamless - they use WhatsApp and respond right away if you have a spur of the moment question. We went to Toledo and they sent us a long list of things to do and restaurant options in Toledo.

We had the breakfast option and each morning had our choice of a variety of eggs and a buffet that featured fruit, yogurt, cheeses, iberico ham, breads and pastries, and cereal. Very delicious and served with coffee and juice.

We would typically have a drink at their expansive bar before heading out at night.

Wi-Fi was great, showers were incredible, we had some laundry done and it came back ironed and so neat.

Check out was simple and they held our bags until we were ready to depart for the train station.

The hotel is in a great location - very close to the SOL and Anton Martin Metro Stations. From either you can get to the Atocha - although we walked most places given the great location of the hotel - everything is within a 30 minute walk. Easy access to restaurants, shopping and many of the sights you would want to see in Madrid.

While we both tried to be respectful of the language neither my wife or I can speak more than a few words of Spanish. This was not an issue at the Hotel (or frankly most places we visited in Madrid) as everyone spoke English very well. I don’t remember all of the names of the Employees or I would list them as they were all incredible.

Es una sola palabra lo describiría con un : SUBLIME , desde la limpieza de la habitaciones , los detalles de las habitaciones , la ropa de cama , las almohadas , las toallas , los ameneties , el trato profesional de su personal en todos los espacios , recepción, botones , cafetería , restaurante, bar , todo , todo absolutamente todo .
El desayuno del hotel es INCREÍBLE , me ha encantado . La próxima si me bolsillo me lo permite volveré a visitarles .

Hemos estado en el brunch y ha sido espectacular. Y sobretodo el trato tan bueno y al detalle de Ana, una persona encantadora. Recomendadisimo.

Fuimos a tomar el brunch un domingo. Todo ha sido espectacular, el servicio, la comida, las bebidas y el ambiente. Altamente recomendable, es para volver.

Me gusta mucho el bar de este hotel. Cavas excelentes
