Petit déjeuner très léger absence de pain

Rare ontvangst, leek wel of de buurvrouw ons de deur open moest doen. Kapotte en lege bloembakken voor de deur. Erg slordig. Kamer en bed is prima, maar stoffig.
Ontbijt zeker geen 15 euro waard.
Drie jaar geleden hier gelogeerd, toen erg tevreden. Nu voor ons niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

When we arrived at the hotel we were a little concerned as the car park area looks really run down. We got to the door and it was locked. After using google to translate the sign on the door we realised we needed to call a number if the door was locked. We did but there was no answer. My husband went into the bar next door and found someone to open up. He was very apologetic and we quickly got checked in. ||The room was really clean, had a lovely comfortable bed with the softest sheets. The shower was great and we were really pleased. We thought we were in for a lovely stay, however we did have a couple of issues. ||The air conditioning unit was really loud. We had to turn it off at night but the room became unbearably hot. When we opened the window there was lots of noise from the street including what sounded like a fight. ||The worst issue was the paving on the entrance to the car park was replaced on our first full day. This meant pneumatic drills waking us up after what had already been a disturbed sleep. We wanted to explore battlefields around Arras but were not able to get the car out because of the work being done. The car was trapped in until just after 5pm. To add insult to injury we had been charged £20 for using the car park! We never saw any staff the whole time we were there so there was no one to help us. We wouldn’t have even minded if we had been given the heads up and we had been given the opportunity to move to a different car park.

Be aware that this hotel has no lift. If they put you on the top floor you will be lugging your cases up two steep flights of stairs. Also there is no front desk - the manager lives next door. If you accidentally leave your key in your room, as I did, you have to call her to come over to open your door. That's OK, but she doesn't answer the phone. I had to call five times over a period of two hours in the early evening before someone picked up. And they don't respond to messages. I would avoid this place.

Lovely little hotel with spacious rooms and big comfortable beds. The breakfast was good and the owner very pleasant and helpful. Great secure parking although the entrance is tight. Only improvement could be cleaner bathrooms and the shower could be updated.
