Este salón de té abierto en 1980 por Toraya, la célebre marca japonesa de pasteles, es una pequeña maravilla aunque el decorado se haya vuelto a hacer con un espíritu más occidental. Sin embargo, sigue siendo uno de los lugares más refinados de la capital, al igual que el personal, muy elegante y un poco pomposo. La antena parisina, repensada por Sylvain Dubuisson, dispara un ambiente relajante que combina la pastelería tradicional (vagashi en japonés). A base de harina de arroz, trigo, agar-agar y judía, la pastelería nippone, nacida hace un milenio, es un himno a la belleza de la naturaleza, también en Toraya, las delicias se disfrazan a voluntad de las estaciones. En primavera, hay que sucumbir al Tô-Zakura, una pequeña trufa florida de vermilas blancas y rosas, en verano se funde el hana-ôgi, una serie de gelatina blanca, en otoño, se entusiasma por la isla, y en invierno se calentan con un uscomportamiento-restaurante, un pequeño conejo blanco. Inseparable de la pastelería, Toraya propone toda una gama de té verde, incluido el divino gyokuro.

The food was just as bad as the service. The menu is tiny, with nothing but boring rice and vegetable dishes for €15–20 or desserts that are downright weird. I tried the mochi, and it was so overloaded with powder or whatever they put on top that I nearly choked while eating it.
The worst part was trying to get the bill. We were sitting right by the counter, and four different waiters straight-up ignored me when I asked for it. Even the one Asian waitress working there looked at me, then just walked off without saying anything. I had to sit there for another 10 minutes before someone finally brought it over.
Overall, the place felt incredibly unwelcoming and disrespectful. Between the mediocre food and the rude, racist service, I honestly wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere better.
