This was quite possibly the best hotel experience I have had in 10 weeks in Italy over the last 20 years. This lovely boutique hotel has only 9 rooms. There are no hallways. Some rooms open directly to the main lobby which feels more like a living room… And some open to the exterior patio. It felt more like you had a bedroom in a large home or Palazzo, than a room in a hotel.
Roberto, the owner, and Lucia were so friendly and helpful. In addition to many local recommendations for restaurants and sites, they helped us arrange transportation from the Amalfi Coast and then on to Bari after our stay in Matera was at its end.

We stayed in the terrace suite Room 1003, and it exceeded our every expectation. We decided to splurge on this room as we had a private Jaccuzzi and a private terrace overlooking the ancient Sassi, but the hotel also has more budget friendly rooms without those extra amenities. We were here in April 2024 and the temperature every day was just perfect. 68-73F You will LOVE this hotel and Matera!

Posizione TOP, camere bellissime ricavate nella roccia, servizio impeccabile e super accogliente, eccellente rapporto qualità prezzo.

Se Matera ha la capacità di farvi vivere in un sogno, il Boutique Hotel In Pietra ha il raro privilegio di farvi materializzare quel sogno...Tanto è piacevole, rilassante, godibile, bello, romantico ed emozionante. Esclusivo e ricercato in ogni suo dettaglio, offre camere scavate direttamente nel tufo. Lo staff è super disponibile, professionale ed educato. Impeccabile la pulizia nella camera e la colazione a buffet davvero molto ricca! Sognerete ad occhi aperti!!

Immerso nei Sassi, subito di viene accolti dalla gentilezza del personale. La camera era tutta curata nei minimi particolari, idromassaggio incluso. La colazione ottima e abbondante da ogni punto di vista. Soggiorno davvero piacevole e struttura da consigliare.

Posto incantevole,l albergo è situato proprio nel centro storico ,sembra di stare in un presepe ,camere accoglienti e confortevoli,personale sempre disponibile e cortese…nei si possono trovare osterie/trattorie dove mangiare specialità locali…insomma bel posto dove rilassarsi ,da rifare!!

Bellissima esperienza nei Sassi di Matera hotel in Pietra meraviglioso

Ho soggiornato due notti nell' appartamento poco distante dall' albergo, le posizione è davvero ottima così come l' accoglienza e la disponibilità dello staff dalla prenotazione al checkout, davvero fantastici.
L' appartamento è meraviglioso, spazioso, confortevole e ben arredato con un set cortesia completo e carino.
Inclusa nel prezzo la colazione sia dolce che salata all' interno del bellissimo e non lontano hotel.
Unica pecca la pulizia della cucina ( che non abbiamo usato) e della doccia, ma di sicuro saranno state delle dimenticanze.
In ogni caso davvero super consigliato!!

Camere pulite, letto comodo ed enorme. Set cortesia morbidi, profumati e di ottima qualità! Vasca idromassaggio molto semplice da usare, hotel fornisce anche i sali da far sciogliere in acqua.
Colazione sia dolce che salata una buona scelta! Il personale molto educato e gentile, ci hanno dato tutte le indicazioni per visitare Matera! È stata una bella esperienza

Speciellt men mysigt och häftigt

Hotel bellissimo! Tipico, inserito nel Sassi Barisano, in una chiesa del XIII secolo, ristrutturato benissimo. Si gode di una vista sui Sassi fantastica.

Für 4 Übernachtungen in Matera haben wir uns dieses Hotel (welches früher mal eine Kirche war) ausgesucht. Wir brauchten ein Doppelzimmer und ein Einzelzimmer und haben uns für die 1001 und die 1009 entschieden. Die 1009 versprach eine phantastische Sicht auf das Sassiviertel Barisano. Genau so war es auch. Die Aussicht einfach sensationell und 160 Euro pro Nacht kann man schonmal investieren. Anders das Einzelzimmer, die Schwester meiner Frau war mit dem Zimmer absolut unglücklich. Ich hatte mich bei Buchung gefreut ein Einzelzimmer zum Preis von 70 Euro zu bekommen. Aber auf der Webseite vom Hotel ist nicht ansatzweise zu erkennen, wie klein das Zimmer ist. Toilette, Dusche und Bett, alles in einem winzigen Zimmer. Doch wir hatten Glück, die Dame an der Rezeption hatte ein Einsehen und trieb noch ein Apartment auf zu einem sehr akzeptablem Preis. Vielen Dank dafür! Ansonsten muss ich hier noch die Feuchtigkeit in der Rezeptionshalle bemängeln. Es riecht dort sehr unangenehm und ich weiß nicht, ob das für die Mitarbeiter im Hotel so gut ist. Jedenfalls wird in der Halle, die ansonsten eine tolle Atmosphäre ausstrahlt, das Frühstück eingenommen. Das hat uns weniger gefallen. Da ist doch bestimmt was möglich, um die Halle trocken zu bekommen. Nichtsdestotrotz schönes Hotel in grandioser Lage.

Abbiamo soggiornato due notti in questo suggestivo hotel situato nella parte alta dei sassi,immerso nelle pietre, bellissima la vista che si ha appena fuori dalla struttura. La stanza è affascinante, confortevole e pulita, ottima la colazione, ho apprezzato le torte e mio marito le focacce.Ottima l 'accoglienza della Sig.ra Lucia.Molto simpatico Marco che ci ha fatto da driver e quasi da guida turistica

Matera is simply stunning and this hotel is no exception. We stayed in suite 1003, part of the 13th Century bell tower and it truly is one of the most unique places I have ever stayed with stunning views from the terrace (this is the only suite with one). Very walkable into the main centre and all attractions. I carried 2 heavy cases but a warning to those with mobility issues that the whole area is pedestrianised with steps to and from. The jacuzzi was excellent and opulent and facilities generally good. Breakfast was decent. Only slight downsides for me were the staff were slightly stand offish compared to other places we stayed. Also they had an iron but no ironing board (?). No coffee machine in room, which you would expect in a luxury room and only one coffee offered at breakfast (not enough for me!). But these are minor for a truly unique and exceptional piece of history in the heart of a spectacular town. Good value too. You would pay 3 times this in UK for such a room.
