It loses a star though because during intervals there is nowhere to sit. There is nothing but space for chairs yet there are no chairs to be found. It's really rather strange, also no tables... you have people juggling food and drink trying to find any space they can to gain a free hand to eat with. And for people standing they end up even sitting on the floor...
I actually thought it was a safety concern that people were forced to put their glasses on balconies which could have easily fallen onto guests below.
The opera tour is also very good, very interesting and well led.
La platea in sé non è molto grande (2200 posti) se paragonata ad altri teatri italiani, ma ciò che colpisce è folgora è sicuramente l’interno e la sua sfarzosa architettura decorativa. Una tappa immancabile per gli amanti della musica a Vienna.
Programmazione teatrale che cambia ogni sera, tenendo in considerazione che l’opera di stato propone solo lirica e balletti.
Die Vorstellung selbst (an einem Mittwoch außerhalb jeder Ferienzeit) war ausverkauft.
Es war daher vollkommen unverständlich, warum die Inszenierung eines so großen und selbst wochentags ausverkauften Hauses so preiswert gehalten war. Mit Kulisse und Kostümen hat man sich keinerlei Mühe gegeben. Mozarts Entführung aus dem Serail wurde im Text durch platte Witze verändert ("Wo ist denn die Leiter?" "Welche Leiter" "Die Leiter, die immer an dieser Stelle kommt").
Wir werden unser Geld sicherlich nicht noch einmal hier verschwenden. Das Orchester hat immerhin gut gespielt und gesungen wurde auch sehr schön. Daher 3 Punkte.

Vous avez des visite guidée pour 10€ Par personne. Plusieurs langues proposés dont le français, l’anglais, l’allemand et l’espagnol.
La visite dure une petite heure. Nous avons pu voir l’opéra de l’intérieur sans forcément assister à un concert. Une expérience à faire.
Impayable entre Noel et le nouvel an !
Le travail accompli par son directeur Dominique Meyer dont c’est hélas la dernière saison aura été formidable.
Dimanche 9 décembre, j’ai assisté à la création mondiale d’Orlando, magnifique œuvre de la compositrice Olga neuwirth avec dans le rôle titre une mezzo américaine Kate Lindsey éblouissante.
Un grand moment de musique et de théâtre aussi grâce à la mise en scène très audacieuse mais speçtaculaire de la britannique Polly Graham.
Une réussite totale. Bravissimo !
