En 1932, Josep Ensesa Pujades, destacado industrial gerundense, fundó el Hostal de la Gavina, que se ha convertido en uno de los hoteles más lujosos de Europa y el primero de la península en ser miembro de Leading Hotels of the World. Dirigido en la actualidad por la cuarta generación de la familia Endesa, el hotel también ha sido reconocido como bien de interés cultural nacional por la Generalitat de Catalunya. Ahora ofrece 76 habitaciones (originalmente 11), así como una piscina de agua de mar, spa y restaurantes, conservando su estructura histórica.

Beware: the waiters of the Bar El Barco badmouth the guests, thinking that you do not understand Catalan. In our case we do. They were talking about guests that only have a drink and do not eat in their bar, like we did. We just had dinner in Candlelight restaurant beneath this bar and wanted to have a drink afterwards.They also badmouthed about other guests. Not nice to hear! We were sorry we did.
Dinner in restaurant Candlelight however was amazing: service, food, everything!
The location of the hotel could not be better and is really awesome!
