I strongly recommend using Hello Scoot, it is easy to use, good scooter quality, clean for the environment because electric and most of all a lot of fun ???? Also, their price point is very good versus the other options available in Tabiti. A+
My partner and I rented a vehicle from Hello Car (aka Hello Scoot) in February. We returned it the next day in perfect condition — clean, no damage, and even took photos at drop-off to document this.
To our shock, three unauthorised charges totalling about $600 USD appeared on our credit card afterwards. The company claimed there was a ding and a spill, but we had clear photo evidence that the car was returned immaculate.
Their scheme? They send an email with the alleged damage and policy that if you don’t respond within 24 hours, they automatically charge your card. Not great when you're a tourist and not constantly checking emails. We alleged the issue several times with Amex, but Hello Scoot kept throwing smaill letter policies stating that they were on their right. This is a complete SCAM
Looking around online, it’s clear this isn’t a one-off. Many other travellers report the same experience — phantom damage, surprise charges, and aggressive billing.
⚠️ Do not rent from Hello Scoot / Hello Car. It's a predatory practice targeting tourists who are unfamiliar with their shady tactics.
