Stayed there for 2 nights during an april weekend. The place is lovely, friendly receptionists, clean bathrooms. It is a 3 floor hostel with an underground bar and a big middle hall and for a Syrian like me this is cool as it looks like an old Syrian style house.
The room and bed were a bit small for 10 people with no curtains nor windows. You will be given one card that gives you access to the building, the room, and the locker. So no need for a lock, and the locker is big enough to fit a large luggage. Towel rental for 5€. Every night they do a pub crawl with other hostels, during weekends around 50 people join, so if you are seeking a good nightlife this hostel would be it.

An overpriced and minimal hostel. I have been to 50+ Hostels and Cats is overall just average. With that said, the bar is a nice touch and makes it social so I give them that. More below, but it won't be a bad experience for most. But there are better options and it caters to a younger crowd, 18 - 23 from my experience

Pros:

The bar - good bar with cheap drinks, but they Jack up prices later to make money off you

Location - nice spot

Cons:

Staff - mediocre and most were not friendly. I emailed about a lost item since I could pick it up and never heard back...even threw weeks later

Dirty: the male bathroom was a war zone. I have booked Hostels that are supposed to be barebones and dirty because they were cheap. This was dirty and not cheap. Talking wet clothes on the floor and scattered items

Money making vibe: it feels like they are just trying to make as much money off you as possible. Laundry was 10 euro, drinks got pretty expensive after happy hours, pub crawl was 20 euro. So no homey feeling or the connotation they really care

With all said, you won't have a bad time. I possibly would go back just for the social aspect. But there are probably better options

Las instalaciones de este hostal, son deprimentes,hay humedades y trozos de pared que se caen,en el baño esta descolchado el techo, y el baño de las mujeres esta en medio de varias habitaciones, lo cual pasa mucha gente. El servicio pesimo, los empleados eran antipaticos y no tenian ganas de trabajar,
Las habitaciones no tenien ventana y hay muy poca ventilacion, No os lo recomiendo para ir muchos dias o con familiares.

Cats is a good hostel, but I think it’s more suitable for a very young crowd and people who are traveling with a lot of friends. During my stay, most of the rooms were filled with high school students on a school trip, or other people traveling with their friends and staying within their pod. The bathrooms/showers had 6-10 teenagers in it basically all the time. It felt like a high school bathroom. I was hoping to meet more solo travelers who were looking to make friends and do things in the city, but that wasn’t the case here. Much more of a party place or a place to stay with a big group of friends.

The bar is also very noisy at night, which wasn’t the best since my room was located directly above it- but it wasn’t the end of the world.

In regards to cleanliness, it was adequate. As soon as you walk through the main door though, the whole place smells like toilet water, which was a bit nauseating. The rooms smelled fine because you are able to open the windows for fresh air! They don’t have curtains on the bunks, so I had to use a sheet to create some privacy.

Staff was great. Location was great. But I was disappointed by this hostel, mostly because I was hoping for a different vibe. I’d recommend it to people aged 15-21 and for people who want to travel with a big group of friends for cheap. But as a solo traveler 23+, I’d recommend staying somewhere else. Unless you’re trying to make friends with teenagers or just looking for a place to be able to drink every night. (You are not allowed to bring outside friends into the bar, so your company is limited to those staying in the hostel)

Los vecinos se quejan por absolutamente TODO, no dejan a los jóvenes disfrutar de al menos UNA noche divertida.

Super auberge de jeunesse. Le personnel est accueillant et réactif. Les locaux sont propre et bien entretenus. Idéal pour un week-end entre amis.

Huge and lively hostel, clean and very social.

パーティで若い男女が仲良くなる機会があるので、風紀的に心配な部分がある。。
混合ドミトリーにしてしまった事を後悔した。

スタッフはみんな親切。

ドミトリーにはカーテンはない。
下段だったので、シーツを借りてカーテンにした。

Me hospedé dos veces y fue simplemente genial, las habitaciones son cómodas, aunque no hay un control de ruido para grupos grandes como grupos escolares, fuera de eso, las regaderas, baños y todo está súper

En mi caso particular la habitación un poco deficiente pero fue un gran servicio y una ubicación excelente.

Sergey, el recepciónista de noche, super majo y amable! Sitio limpio, bien ubicado, con mucha personalidad

No hot water for the duration of my stay, breakfast was reasonable price and at a good time but barely passable as a meal

Inos, Marco y Sergei son los mejores que he conocido. Madrid no hubiera Sido lo mismo sin ellos. Te aceptan y se siente como casa.

Everything is so clean. And I mean everything! Staff is nice and friendly. The beds were great to sleep on. Had breakfast. Bread was a bit dry for my taste But other than that, a 10 out of 10!!!

Excelente ubicación, las instalaciones muy bien.
No tiene cocina, solo servicio de desayuno un poco caro comparado a que se puede desayunar en los alrededores por mucho menos dinero.

Pero está bien.

¡Muy bonne auberge! Pequeñas habitaciones un tanto, pero con tarifas ventajosas. Además, el desayuno abundante e incluido, ideal para los presupuestos reducidos.
