En el siglo XIX, la cima de Nob Hill albergaba fabulosas mansiones, como la de Mark Hopkins, que se incendió con el resto de la ciudad en 1906. Aquí, un ambicioso ingeniero decidió construir en 1926 uno de los hoteles más grandiosos de la ciudad. La decoración principesca del vestíbulo, con sus imponentes lámparas de araña y mármol por todas partes, es digna de su categoría. Las habitaciones son espaciosas y las vistas fabulosas. El edificio de 19 plantas tiene un bar panorámico en la cima, el Top of The Mark.

Stayed here for a few nights on a business trip. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and definitely went above and beyond to answer any questions and explain things when I asked. Breakfast was nice. It's in a good location; not too far from downtown, and fairly scenic and also quiet, which is good if you're a light sleeper. The gym was a bit small and limited, and I felt that the rooms were a bit dated, but there was nothing 'objectively' wrong with them - that's just a matter of taste.

Nice hotel for the money but I just ordered room service to get some hot tea to my room and was charged a $6 delivery fee on top of the charge for the tea itself. It wasn’t DoorDash, this was room service. That’s a tough look for a nice hotel. Not super classy

Loved our two night stay in this well kept gem! The most charming old building with comfy beds, good climate control for heat or fresh air from opening windows, surprisingly quiet from city noises, great views, rooftop bar, very pleasant restaurant and 99.9 of the staff are very warm and welcoming and interactive! I was even able to have my full size truck valet parked with no worries about break ins. Walk to trolly and many desirable places is not far. We love the guy at the rooftop bar with the beard. Wish I could remember his name and hope that everyone will have the opportunity to have him make them a cocktail someday!

The staff at the Mark Hopkins made our stay memorable. The food was delicious and plentiful. We enjoyed the bread and dips, steaks, octopus and numerous breakfast dishes. A wonderful 3 days with a stellar view. The cable cars stop right out front which made for fun visits to Chinatown. Clean, quiet rooms that were nicely appointed.
