LAKAZ CHAMAREL

We stayed at Lakaz Chamarel in August 2023 for our honeymoon and we couldn’t recommend the place more. Peggy, Vinesh, Sylvia, Jeremy and to be honest, all the staff at Lakaz Chamarel made the hotel feel like a home from home. The rooms are incredibly luxurious, with a private pool and sunbathing area overlooking the beautiful tropical forest surrounding the hotel. The food was exquisite every day - absolutely delicious, and the friendly wildlife around the hotel was an amazing added perk! I was hand feeding tropical birds at breakfast - it was fantastic! There is nothing we could add as an improvement and I’d personally rate Lakaz Chamarel as a 5 star hotel, not a 4 star. Thank you for helping to make our honeymoon that extra bit special.

My husband and I came here for our honeymoon wanting to see a bit of nature whilst in Mauritius and we were delighted with Lakaz Chamarel. The staff truly go out of their way to make your stay exquisite, Vinesh in particular was amazing and really made our stay, he's a total credit to the hotel, making sure we were taken care of like ensuring we had breakfast packed for our early hike up le morne. Tony was also fantastic and made sure we got to our rooms ok.

We stayed in a villa with ocean view and a pool which was great but be warned if you go in June-Sept because it's high up it gets a little chilly and rainy so we didn't get to use it.

The only thing I have to mention that took away from our experience was the nespresso pods in the rooms- we used them not realising you get charged for them (it's not made clear). So just be warned that they aren't free, only the instant coffee is which is surprising for a hotel which is supposed to be branded as luxury

On one of the days we told Julie at reception that we were being picked up early around 4am for our hike so would need the gate left open, she said she'd like security know but somewhere down the line this was lost in translation and at 4am when we needed to go our driver couldn't get into the hotel to pick us up and security had no idea because the message didn't get to them.

Apart from this it's a fab hotel, the food at the restaurant changes on a daily basis so you never get bored. If you're about nature I definitely wouldn't hesitate to stay!

Un des meilleurs hôtels que nous ayons fait. Dès le portail, nous arrivons au paradis, chants d’oiseaux, cadre verdoyant, grand étang. Accueil comme à la maison, personnel aux petit soins, nourriture excellente. Nous étions logés dans la chambre Tourelle Tamarin, avec une vue à couper le souffle, lit confortable, douche extérieure, grande salle de bain et piscine privée. En bref, dans l’hôtellerie, on dit que le vrai luxe se cache dans les détails, et la chaque détail est pris en compte. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour.

L'arrivée dans cet hôtel en pleine nature était des plus dépaysants.
Ce lieu est réellement magique avec des suites magnifiquement décorées avec beaucoup de goût et personnalisées. Le personnel de l'hôtel était également aux petits soins avec nous et d'une grande gentillesse.
La soirée animée par un groupe local était également unique.
Nous recommandons vivement cet hôtel à l'Ile Maurice!

What an incredible experience! The service is the best we have ever had. The food was very good a little bit upmarket for me but it was still very good. The set menu changes every night which does lead to some guesswork based on smells! We stayed in the sea view suites and the view was amazing, it is quite a long walk to our suite but you can ask at reception for one of the golf buggies to take you up if you are struggling. The massage included in our package was brilliant and the half board was good, the drinks are reasonably priced, my only gripe was having to pay separately for the table water, it was only the equivalent of about £1.50 so not a massive issue. A special mention to Yacine who was a brilliant waiter the whole time and made our experience feel very personal and Sylvia at reception who went to the garden and got aloe Vera for my wife when her bite swelled up. All in all and amazing experience and one that I would recommend to anyone .
