Beautifull and comfortable hotel close to the city centre. The services and the restaurant are high level. The staff was always helpfull and polite.

Très mauvaise expérience rencontrée au Suffren hier soir à l'occasion de l'anniversaire d'un proche qui avait réservé un dîner pour neuf personnes. Nous sommes rentrés dans le restaurant ou une gentille et aimable serveuse nous a guidé vers notre table où c'était écrit " reserved". Grande a été notre étonnement quand une dame de couleur blanche est venue nous demander de partir car selon elle c'était sa table. Elle a commencé à nous hurler dessus mais nous n'avons pas voulu bouger. Un maître d'hôtel au prénom d'Atish est venu nous demander de quitter la table, en d'autres mots nous soumettre aux exigences de cette dame à la peau blanche. Nous nous sommes sentis humiliés devant tout ce monde qui nous regardait; certains, d'un air goguenard. Il nous a dit qu'il allait préparer une autre table et nous a demandé de nous asseoir au petit salon près du bar. On a attendu plus de 25 minutes sans nous faire savoir qu'une autre table 'la nôtre' était prêtre. Nous étions exaspérés et c'est quand nous nous sommes levés pour partir que ce même maître d'hôtel est venu vers nous pour nous dire de venir nous installer à notre table 《table qui était prête depuis belle lurette》. Quand on a décidé de partir, il a rejetté la faute sur la gentille serveuse et s'est ensuite excusé en disant qu'il avait " fauté" et qu'il n'aurait pas dû nous faire partir de l'autre table. Le mal était déjà fait. Nous avons donc quitté le restaurant humiliés, déçus, frustrés, très encolère d'avoir été traités nous, mauriciens, dans notre propre pays simplement parceque nous sommes des gens de couleur et que la priorité selon ce même maître d'hôtel est de priviligier cette dame à la peau blanche. C'est un cas flagrant de racisme, non seulement par cette étrangère mais par ce "béni oui-oui" de maître d'hôtel à la solde des étrangers à la peau blanche!!!!!!! Notre soirée a été complètement gâchée!!!!!! Rien ne pourra nous enlever ce sentiment d'avoir été dénigrés dans notre propre pays au profit des étrangers et des personnes à la peau blanche!!! Entre parenthèses je voudrais souligner que je ne suis pas raciste mais contre le racisme de tout genre!!!

Stayed from 23rd until 25th. The name is quite apt. U pay through your nose to 'sufferin' in this hotel.

Rooms are OK but very pricy. My price was 320 eur per night and no breakfast included. My colleague who paid the same, got breakfast included. When I took it up with the reception staff, they didn't bother to change it or even explain. It was a bourgeois attitude. Something I will take up with the travel agent. Also the toilets don't have health faucet or bidet. Just abrasive toilet paper. I hate those.

The View from the restaurant and the room is good. Breakfast (BTW which I paid at 890rs (Mur) per day) has no changes from day to day. Same menu everyday. It's extremely boring and not worth it. I didn't bother to go out for breakfast since my colleague has breakfast included in his room charge.
The Staff ask ur room number 5-6 times during your breakfast. It's very annoying and doesn't make u feel welcome. Overall service is meh.
Water bottles being charged >100rs (Mur) for 750ml. Better to buy outside at less than half the price.
Mostly French people coming and that's the clientele the hotel caters to. Other people won't find the hotel to their liking.

Chambres confortables et très propres. Salle de fitness très bien équipée et entretenue, hammam, piscines et spa impeccables. Très bien situé avec bateau navette pour rejoindre le Caudan. Restaurant de l'hôtel avec buffet petit-déjeuner et déjeuner avec de très nombreux choix suivant vos goûts: indien, chinois, occidental, non végétarien ou végétarien, etc... Il manquerait juste du pain complet bio pour le petit-déjeuner, sinon c'est parfait. Et surtout, après avoir voyagé dans plus de 30 pays, dans toutes catégories d'hôtels, Le Suffren remporte la palme d'or de l'accueil et du sourire grâce à un personnel très attentionné et toujours souriant, EXCEPTIONNEL !

Lovely hotel with beautiful evening views over the marina, and within walking distance of the city centre and malls. The restaurant food was excellent (big fan of their sushi which was freshly prepared once ordered). The gym was excellent, featuring modern equipment. There was live music on the terrace a couple of evenings during my stay which was very enjoyable. The rooms were slightly dated, but the service was truly excellent. For example, I noticed a few days into my stay that a quadrant of the huge TV's backlight wasn't working, so I thought I should inform them of this, but told them not to worry as I wasn't watching any TV. The very next day, after returning from a workshop, they had replaced the television. And after returning home to London, I discovered that I had left one of my shirts and cuff-links hanging in the cupboard, both had sentimental value. I got in touch with the hotel and they very kindly arranged to ship them back to the UK (for a postage fee of course). Throughout the process, the entire team were helpful, reassuring and kind. And I received my shirt within a few days. Definitely a hotel I will return to just for the service!

Rooms are pleasant. The shower wasn't too clean though. Fresh towels everyday. There is air conditioning. Decent working space, comfy beds and pillows. Beautiful view of the marina.
The service at the sushi bar and outside bar isn't great. Breakfast at the restaurant is the exact same everyday with not much variety. Very far from the closest beaches.
Getting a taxi on 2 occasions, driver arrived late.
It's a very close walk to the waterfront which has so many restaurants to choose from and some decent stores to shop at.
