VILLA MYRIAM

C’est vraiment une magnifique maison avec un charme incroyable. Venant du Canada, nos nuits dans cette maison on vraiment été l’occasion de nous imprégner d’une partie de l’histoire de l’île de la Réunion. Comme nous avons visité pendant l’hiver austral la piscine était un peu froide, mais elle n’est pas chauffée pour des raisons écologiques car ça ne ferait aucun sens de chauffer une piscine à la Réunion. Je recommande à 100%.

La maison est incroyable, c’est vraiment une maison créole typique, mais elle a été rénovée avec énormément de goût pour permettre un accueil de grande qualité. Les propriétaires s’occupent de la maison avec amour et le jardin est magnifique.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed in the fact that the pool was NOT heated (middle of August, which is winter time here) because the owner wants to save money. If I would have known this before I would have chosen a different place for my stay. So that was misleading in the least. The WiFi was not functioning either. For 2 people the price is way too high I find if you factor in 2 breakfasts. For the same price a 4 star hotel is just 5 Euro more expensive. Speaking of the breakfast is good and fresh every morning but there's a lack of choices. If you like both eggs and pastry for breakfast you can forget about it. The rooms at the top floor have holes in the wall (probably for ventilation). Due to these holes there are currents of air constantly forming and moving the doors of the room (which make noise and squeak when moved). Not for light sleepers. One last point is that the rooms are not very sound proof so you can hear people walking in the house, and probably more. Plan to have your own shower products as the ones given to you last maybe for 2 days and are not replenished and the bed isn't done.
On a positive note the restaurants and bars in the area are good and there are supermarkets as well. Close to the pier as well and the garden is nice and well kept. The staff working there until 14:30 are very nice and pleasant. It's a nice themed house, but do not expect it to be a hotel. It's an Airbnb with breakfast.
