What made the situation worse was that shortly after, a French lady was seated at the table next to us, and when she requested a different table, they immediately accommodated her request — a clear display of double standards.
It also took nearly 30 minutes for someone to take our order, which added to the frustration. And even when we asked for the bill, it took more than half an hour to receive it — a clear sign of poor service and lack of attention to guests.
We don’t go to places like this just for the food — we go for the full experience, from the moment we walk in until we pay the bill. That’s what we expect and what we’re paying for: professional, respectful service and a welcoming atmosphere.
On a positive note, the food was good, and I appreciate the waiter who served us — he was the only kind and friendly member of the staff. He spoke to us in Arabic with a smile and even made a few jokes, which made the experience a bit more pleasant.
However, due to the unprofessional and discriminatory attitude we encountered, I would not return to the Paris branch. They seriously lack the ability to treat all guests equally, regardless of nationality.

Nous avions réservé via l’application PS et laissé une note demandant d’être placé à une table proche des fenêtres ou avec vue.
A notre arrivé, un seul ascenseur fonctionnait et nous avons dû prendre l’escalier pour monter les 7 étages (nous avons attendu 5 minutes que quelqu’un vienne nous ouvrir la porte des escaliers de service, pour au final devoir demander au voiturier de le faire!)
À l’accueil, l’hôtesse nous propose une table en terrasse. La vue y étant limitée, je demande s’il est possible d’être placés à l’intérieur, près des fenêtres. Après consultation en interne, on nous annonce avoir trouvé « une super table ». En réalité, celle-ci se trouvait au fond du restaurant, sans aucune vue, avec en prime deux coins de table cassés. Était-ce de l’ironie?
La salle étant loin d’être pleine et plusieurs tables avec vue encore disponibles, j’ai demandé à être replacée — en vain, l’hôtesse n’étant jamais revenue vers nous.
Le service à table, heureusement, a relevé le niveau grâce à un serveur attentionné et agréable.
Cela dit, je reste très déçue par la gestion de l’accueil et du placement, surtout dans un établissement qui met en avant sa vue panoramique. J’ai formulé mes demandes avec courtoisie et aurais compris une contrainte opérationnelle. Or, ce n’était visiblement pas le cas : d’autres clients arrivés après nous ont bénéficié des meilleures tables. Ce manque de considération nuit clairement à l’expérience.
We booked Gigi weeks in advance for a rooftop table with a view of the Eiffel Tower to celebrate my friend’s 50th birthday. When we arrived, we were the first guests in the restaurant and the rooftop area was completely empty—yet we were inexplicably seated in a hot, cramped corner inside with no view at all.
Despite multiple polite requests to be moved (including a call from our concierge), the staff refused to accommodate us. The waiter was unfriendly and dismissive from the beginning, and after a couple of hours, he abruptly told us we needed to leave because “someone else had our table.” I also spoke with the manager, but there was no effort to fix the situation—even after explaining that all seven of us had flown in from the U.S. specifically for this one night.
While the food was undeniably good, the lack of hospitality was shocking. They were well aware we were celebrating a major milestone, but they treated us like an inconvenience. We skipped dessert, left feeling unwelcome, and ended up at Le Bouchon nearby where we were genuinely appreciated—they even sang for my friend.
Gigi may have a nice location, but if you’re expecting even basic hospitality, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. Paris has far better places that actually care about their guests.
Sinon la cuisine était bonne et le service très bon. Nous avons bien mangé. L’ambiance était sympa.
