Piège à touristes

Du bon jambon certes coupé en tranches fines pour un meilleur goût quelques gouttes de citron bergamote du bon pain certes mais loin d'être exceptionnel ...et hop...le tour est joué... encaissement 15 euros .Pas d'endroit pour s'asseoir. Un beau piège à touristes qui rapporte gros pour celui ou celle qui a trouvé le filon. Que cette adresse figure dans le petit futé je trouve cela dommage. Il y'a tout de même des limites. Notamment celle du respect de la clientèle

Skip it and go to the food market across the street!! The line up is deceiving. There was maybe 15people in front of us which turned into 1:45mins of waiting because they explain all the different meats and cheeses to every party of 2-3. There’s even a sign that says they help one group at a time! Once you are in, you get the option of Italian or french meats so of course we went for the French. I got two different types of meats, truffle cheese, butter and artichoke in my sandwich. My husband got a sandwich, a beer and a coke. It came up to €52.80!!! We toke maybe 10mins in the small shop itself. Our sandwiches were good but not for almost 2hours of our life in line, while in Paris and definitely not for that price again.

While we waited, we had taken turns walking the market across the street and the food looked so much better. There was so many food options and there was also a deli shops there, I say go and make your own sandwiches for far less the money!

We stopped by because this spot had gone viral (????) and was conveniently close to our BnB. While the quality of the sandwich was excellent — delicious meats, cheeses, and bread — the overall experience wasn’t quite what we personally needed in the moment.

The shop serves one customer at a time, and the owners take great care to explain every ingredient, which is genuinely thoughtful and shows their passion. That said, after a long travel day and nearly an hour wait, we were definitely a bit too hangry to fully appreciate the charm in the moment.

If you visit, I’d recommend coming when you’re not in a rush and can enjoy the experience without a line. It’s a lovely, high-quality meal — just best enjoyed with a bit of patience!

First off - dont go there if you are in a hurry. I’ve had only 7 people in front of me and waited 50 minutes. They take time to consult each customer individually. The sandwiches are definitely good - i wouldnt queue there another time though.

평범한 잠봉뵈르에 20유로... 일반적인 곳의 2배가 넘는데, 맛은 햄은 좋지만 빵은 별로임.
특히 햄에 전문 지식이 없는 관광객들에겔 정말 비추천합니다.

Waited 1.5 hours in line for a sandwich you can get at any other caractere. Also the sandwich with cheese is 24 euros… there out of their mind. The sandwich is good but this is just another tourist trap. Never again.

Waited 1:45min in hopes it would be worth it, two sandwich and two drinks came out to 52 euros, defiantly not worth the wait, sandwich’s were good but not worth the time or money, way over hyped

Arriver à 15h50 j’ai fait 15 min de queue sous la pluie pour qu’on me dise que c’est fermé alors que le commerce annonce une fermeture à 17h. Des sacré guignols !!!

You pay for the service, not the food. The service is exemplary, they take in one group at a time and tailor each sandwich to your preferences. However, ~50 euros for 2 sandwiches is a little outrageous, probably the most I’ve ever paid for sandwiches. And the taste was average at best. Mind the hype, you’ve been warned.

Very rude people- exactly as you’d expect them to be. You cannot treat customers that waited for 10-15-20’ to try your place in such an indifferent manner. Honestly stay away.

It's good. The staff take their time to explain each cut of meat and are great at recommending cheese pairings to go with it. We got the truffle white ham and smoked cured ham. Well worth the 1hour we waited.

The staff were friendly and gave great recommendations, which helped us decide on our sandwich.

We went with the Noir de Bigorre with Brie, and it tasted fantastic. That said, it’s definitely on the pricey side for a sandwich, so just keep that in mind if you’re popping in for a quick bite.

Hier kun je geen broodje kopen, maar een Geweldig stokbroodje met het heerlijkste vlees en kaas. Echt geweldig. De uitleg… al is de rij nog zo lang, al je vragen worden beantwoordt.

Beaucoup trop cher pour ce que c'est, même pour Paris. La charcuterie semble être de qualité, mais le pain ne l'est pas et le beurre est passable. La propreté laisse aussi à désirer. Les gens qui ont pour habitude de payer un jambon beurre 20 € ont de sérieux problèmes. Un piège à éviter.

19 euros pour un sandwich au jambon ! Je savais les gens abrutis mais à ce point on touche le fond ! Juste un conseil , vous allez à n'importe quelle boulangerie et boucherie ,vous faites le même sandwich ou mieux pour 5 euro . Et pourtant je n'ai pas d'iphone à 800 euros (cf réponse du gérant à un commentaire ????)

Sunulan et ve peynir çeşitliliği gerçekten etkileyici. Çalışanlar hem bilgili hem de ürünler hakkında detaylı ve anlaşılır şekilde bilgi veriyorlar. Sıra beklemek gerekebiliyor, servis çok hızlı değil. Etler ve peynirler son derece lezzetliydi; ancak kullanılan bagetin kalitesinin daha yüksek olmasını beklerdim. İki sandviç ve bir kola için yaklaşık 50 Euro ödedik — fiyatlar oldukça yüksek.

Ce qui n’est pas normal c’est que rien n’est pesé tout se fait à la louche !? Pas de ticket !? Même si c’est de bon produit il y a des limites
Le problème en France dès que une affaire marche et les clients commencent à venir au lieu de continuer les mêmes services et les mêmes prix certains commerçants prennent la grosse tête et ça gâche tout

Parole de française,la charcuterie n'est pas d'une qualité supérieur, passe partout serait le bon qualitatif.
Une attente interminable du faite que la typologie de vente est de faire payer un maximum les touristes.
Malgré les prix extravagants des sandwich il est encore possible de payer pour une malheureuse tranche de fromage.
Déçu et souhaite avertir mes compatriotes.

You want to try a classic jambon beurre, you’ve heard about this spot, you’ve seen an Instagram story or two (or ten). They all tell the truth.

This sandwich absolutely rules.

Besides the sando itself, the experience is unique: the staff only let in one group at a time to make sure you get exactly what you want. Cooked ham vs cured, goat vs cow’s cheese, cornichon, whatever you want - you’ll get it on your sandwich with all the help from the delightful staff. We spent about 8 minutes waiting, 5 minutes inside, and then had our sandwiches 2 minutes later. 15 minutes at this place - well well well worth it.

This is a must visit and, should I return to Paris, Caractère will be one of my first stops.

Just superb. Tiny place in Marais. Be prepared to queue at busy times. One group goes in at a time. Huge selection of hams - both cured and cooked - to assemble your perfect jambon beurre. Best in Paris. Just don't be a throbber by adding cheese.
