Downstairs, you see some amazing casts of some of the world's most impressive gateways, arches and similar (Roman, medieval, ecclisiastic); upstairs, an impressive architectural collection (built and unbuilt) with plans and models, plus a Corbosier lifesize model duplex); plus some incredible recreations of painted places (e.g. medieval rooms). An incredible site in the heart of Paris

Visitei a exposição temporária “Machu Picchu et les trésors du Pérou”. Através de mais de 190 peças pré-colombianas, incluindo joias e objetos rituais, com experiências imersivas em realidade virtual, revelou a riqueza da civilização inca e a história do santuário de Machu Picchu. Exposição bem organizada e explicativa, deu vontade de ir ao Peru pessoalmente para ver de perto tanta riqueza cultural, arquitetônica e artística.

J'y ai visité le 29 juin dernier l'exposition temporaire sur "Le mur de Berlin, un monde divisé".
Près de 3 heures de visite.
Très bien construite, l'exposition est riche en documents souvent rares et originaux. Elle permet également de se confronter aux témoignages des Berlinois de l'époque.
À ne pas louper si vous passez par Paris.

19,50 euros pour entrer à une expo (Berlin) dans un établissement public sous tutelle du ministère de la Culture, c'est absolument inadmissible et élitiste, d'autant que le ticket n'autorise même pas à aller voir l'expo permanente (il faudrait alors rajouter 13 euros...).

One of my favorite spots in Paris, and a must for anyone interested in architecture. I particularly love the views of the city from the second floor and the prototype of the Unité Habitation made by Le Corbusier.

Do not plan to leave any time after 6:30pm if you are doing the audio tour!! You are required to leave a piece of ID with the desk you receive the headphones from for the duration of your visit. They rushed us out at 6:40pm today even though it is open until 7pm which we were not warned of at the beginning of our visit. We did not get to complete the tour. When we went to return the headphones and phone the desk was closed and locked so we were met with confused staff who didn’t know where to put them. We were distracted and frustrated as we left so failed to realize we had not gotten our ID back. When we realized this we ran back to the museum but were met with a dismissive security guard who told us he could not help us and to return tomorrow morning at 11am when they re-opened to retrieve it. This was after we repeatedly informed him our flight back to Canada leaves at 9am that day and had asked if he could call someone. He smugly smiled through the entire interaction. After we explained our unfortunate situation for the fourth time he walkie-talkied one of his co-workers who informed him they had the passport in their office and we could go retrieve it immediately. Before telling us how to do this he asked if we spoke French after the entire conversation with him seconds before was completed completely in French. The retrieval process was easy and the other guard was very kind and helpful. Since they had locked their station before we left the building I am under the impression our ID was removed from the building before we left the first time. Very frustrating.

Take note: although it closes at 7pm, security will rush you out at 6:35pm. The tour was to take an hour and a half so they should have told us that we didn’t have enough time.
The kiosk that rented the audio guide was already closed and they had taken my passport for collateral. The security guard told me I had to return the next day which wouldn’t have worked because we fly out the next morning. After explaining in french several times that it was not possible for us to return because of our early departure, he just laughed at me and said ‘tant pixs pour vous, c’est fermer pour le soir’ I asked several times for the phone number of someone to call he finally called the head of security who had it. When giving me instructions on how to get to the office, he asked if I spoke french! Oui, bien sûr! We had just had an entire exchange in french.
Although they were very rude and dismissive, we enjoyed the second floor more than the first, the modern architectural displays were fascinating and beautifully displayed. Too bad we didn’t have time to really check it out.

J'ai été très surprise du tarif de 19,50 euros pour l'exposition temporaire sur le mur de Berlin, d'autant plus que ce tarif ne permet pas l'accès aux collections permanentes. Il faut tout de même être un peu raisonnable, ce musée est un EPIC sous la tutelle du Ministère de la Culture, il devrait être plus accessible, c'est honteux.

My second time visiting this museum. Other than the wonderful to-scale casts and structures of ancient architecture from France, there’s a fascinating exhibition of modern architecture including some of Le Corbusier’s seminal works. This one has place has lovely views onto the Eiffel Tower.

Museo que vale la pena si te gusta la arquitectura, hay muchas maquetas, de edificios antiguos y contemporaneos. En el segundo piso hay unas ventanas con unas vistas espectaculares de la torre Eiffel y Trocadero, buen spot para fotos

Je suis venue pour l'exposition Le Mur de Berlin. Un Monde Divisé et j'ai adoré. Le lieu est superbe et très bien situé. L'exposition est très riche, avec des objets et des témoignages touchants. Grâce à l'audioguide, on apprend beaucoup de choses. L'équipe sur place était très sympathique. Je recommande à 100% !

Dix-sept euros cinquante ( 17.50 ! ), le billet d'entrée pour les allocataires du RSA-socle... soit seulement deux euros de moins que le tarif plein.
Visiter cette exposition autour du Mur de Berlin et célébrant la sacro-sainte liberté n'est pas permis aux manants.
Les musées parisiens sont décidément destinés exclusivement à un public friqué de France ou d'ailleurs : les plus précaires financièrement de nos compatriotes français ne sont manifestement pas les bienvenus !
Visiter cette exposition autour du Mur de Berlin et célébrant la sacro-sainte liberté n'est pas permis aux manants.

Grandiose, on a adoré. Une belle découverte, avec des expositions temporaires au sous-sol, et 2 étages de reproduction d'éléments architecturaux jusqu'à l'aire du moderne.
Les fresques murales au 1er, reproduires grandeur nature sont impressionnantes.

Le musée est très riche pour les amateurs de l'architecture ; il fait dire qu'il dispose des copies des portails, sculptures etc, mais cela ne change pas le fond : on est capable d'observer dans les plus fins détails les éléments architecturaux qui sont d'habitude peu accessibles.
Il y a aussi des fresques à l'étage ; elles sont extraordinaires.
Il y a peu de monde même en week-end, le personnel est très sympathique.

La Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine est un musée vraiment intéressant si vous aimez l’architecture. On y découvre des maquettes, des reproductions grandeur nature et plein d’éléments fascinants sur le patrimoine architectural français. Une belle surprise à découvrir !

C'est la troisième fois que je visite ce musée ; j'ai beaucoup aimé son exposition sur les Grands Magasins que j'ai trouvé très riche. Néanmoins, pensez à réserver pour les expositions temporaire si vous venez un premier dimanche du mois (la billetterie ouvre en début de semaine) si vous souhaitez obtenir un bon créneau.

One of my favorite museums in Paris. We just saw the delightful exhibition on the Grand Magasin of Paris.
The castings and reproduction of architecture are great, the recreated murals (especially the dome) are beautiful and the architectural models are fascinating. And the full scale build of the Corbusier apartment is fascinating.
Never too busy and with great views if the Eiffel tower.
