Direkt beim Restaurant „the Rock“, direkt am Strand und wahnsinnig liebes Personal. Besonders Fatma hat alles getan sodass wir uns wohl fühlten. Frühstück und Zimmer sind einfach aber gut. Wer Katzen mag wird es liiiiiieben :)

The location was very good. There were enough restaurants around. The breakfast was good and served at your own room. Personal was very kind and welcoming. The rooms were clean and in good condition.

Apparentemente Shanuo potrebbe voler sembrare un semplice delizioso hotel sul mare con pochi servizi e senza troppe pretese, ma in realtà è un piccolo paradiso integrato nel grande paradiso di Zanzibar. Davanti il mare e dietro un piccolo villaggio locale con caprette e galline che vi daranno il benvenuto. Camere essenziali ma con un tocco romantico nella progettazione e negli arredi, bagni funzionali e pratici con 2 lavandini e doccia spaziosa,balconi che danno sul meraviglioso giardino affacciato direttamente sulla spiaggia che a mio parere è la più bella dell’isola. Colazione ottima con opzioni dolci e salate preparate al momento dallo chef. Dormire cullati dal rumore delle onde del mare e svegliarsi vedendo il sole sorgere sono cose che vi mancheranno una volta tornati a casa. Gillian si occuperà di tutte le vostre esigenze, una straordinaria donna scozzese che ha vissuto 25 anni in Italia. Anche il resto del personale è molto attento e presente per ogni esigenza. La sera un masai farà da guardia alla struttura, ma è comunque un posto tranquillissimo e privo di pericoli. Ogni escursione e spostamento con taxi può essere richiesta in reception senza bisogno di organizzare giorni prima e stare a contrattare con persone sconosciute e a prezzi onestissimi. Qui si vive alla giornata come fa la gente del posto. Per pranzo e cena avete l’imbarazzo della scelta: su questa meravigliosa spiaggia ci sono diversi ristoranti molto validi, un paio anche molto belli con uso piscina, oltre al famoso e meritevole rock restaurant. Insomma, l’ideale per chi vuole vivere davvero Zanzibar e stare alla larga da villaggi italiani con buffet all inclusive e animazione.

Confermo quanto scritto nelle recensioni precedenti. La struttura si trova in un vero angolo di paradiso ma ciò che fa la differenza a Shanuo sono le persone che ci lavorano. Ci siamo sentiti a casa e coccolati grazie all’ottimo lavoro di tutto lo staff. Grazie di tutto e ci rivediamo di sicuro!

We had a wonderful stay at Shanuo. Gillian and all the staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The room is right on the beach, with beautiful views from the breakfast area. The rooms are very clean and well kept. The beach is relaxing and quiet, with a view of The Rock restaurant. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but there are two very good restaurants either side - so you don’t have to walk far for food!

Throughout our stay we felt safe and this was important to us. Breakfasts are delicious and served to order. What is especially fantastic are the people working at Shanoo and especially Gilian, who as a manager cares about the quality and good feeling of the stay that guests have.

Территория небольшая, номера тоже. Завтрак скудный (или блинчики или яйца или фрукты). Вода в номер не полагается.
Удобные лежаки в виде подвесных матрасов и диван на маленькой территории у каждого номера.

Amazing Beach Front experience

Overall good price for what you get. The staff was great and the property was nice with a great outdoor area with mattresses and hanging beds. Couple things that brought down the rating for me would be the mattress was really hard and uncomfortable and there was construction next door that we only found out about a couple of days before arriving even though it looks like they had been working on it for a little while. We had a room on the top floor which had a nice view of the ocean and a lovely verandah but keep in mind with straw roofs there can be little critters living inside. Absolutely amazing restaurant next door, The Wishing Tree, not on Google maps yet because it's new. There isn't a whole lot around pingwe but it's a nice place if you want quiet and relaxation. Paje has a bit more happening and more shops around, it's about 20min drive away.

Absolutely fantastic. Certainly our favorite out of the four places we stayed in Zanzibar. Staff superb. Breakfast great. Truly perfect.

Just watch out for Captain Octopus and his cronies on the beach (he is NOT affiliated with this guesthouse). We had $100 stolen from our wallet while we snorkeled off one of his boats.

Piękne miejsce w pięknej lokalizacji z jeszcze piękniejszymi ludźmi! Byłem na urlopie razem z żoną i z całego serca mogę polecić każdemu! Przepiękne miejsce, tuż przy plaży, bajkowe widoki, niczym z pocztówek. Obsługa zawsze życzliwa, uprzejma i pomocna. Całe miejsce ocieka powiedzeniem 'Hakuna Matata' i łatwo się zarazić tym sposobem myślenia co jest idealne na wakacjach.

Wir hatten eine wirklich tolle Zeit! Unser Bungalow war super, extrem sauber und die Rezeption jederzeit sehr hilfsbereit! Zum Frühstück konnte man täglich aus drei guten Gerichten auswählen. Die Bungalows sind traditionell gebaut aus natürlichen Materialen. Dennoch gab es keine Insekten in der Wohnung und jeden Abend wurde durch das Personal die Zimmer hergerichtet und gegen Mücken eingesprüht. Probleme mit Mücken hatten wir deshalb keine, es gab auch ein Netz über dem Bett. Die Duscharmaturen wurden erneuert. Es gibt keine Kochgelegenheit, weshalb man auf die tollen Restaurants in der Umgebung angewiesen ist, welche sehr gut sind, jedoch europäische Preise verlangen. Wir waren fast eine Woche vor Ort und hatten uns deshalb einen Roller gemietet, was über die Rezeption unkompliziert möglich ist. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Direkt am Strand, schöne Lage, 100 m zu The Rock Restaurant, günstige Rollervermietung, kein Abendessen, Frühstück direkt auf der eigenen Terrasse vorm Zimmer, Ameisen und Katzen auf der Terrasse, Bad wird beim Duschen überschwemmt - teilweise auch das Zimmer, Duschen auch nach Check Out möglich

Malheureusement séduis par les avis précédents, nous avons séjourné début septembre dans cet établissement.

Que dire :

1-Bains de soleil décolorés (et pas propres non plus )
2-Séjour de 3 jours , 1 seule bouteille d’eau mise à disposition
3- accueil quasi inexistant ( l’impression que personne ne se soucie de savoir si nous passons un bon séjour ou quand bien même un bonjour )
4- wifi ne fonctionne pas dans les chambres ( ou très aléatoirement )
5- pas de restaurant
6- pas de moustiquaire
7- pas de vitres aux fenêtres (niveau bruit et intimité cela laisse à désirer )
8- pas de partie commune
9- les photos ne sont plus forcément d’actualité
10- l’environnement ( même si cela n’est pas forcément de leurs fautes ) :travaux sur le terrain à côté donnant sur la chambre
11- salle de bain (si on peut appeler cela comme ça) : il s’agit simplement d’une colonne de douche et d’une évacuation dans le sol en béton, à 2 pas des toilettes. On vous laisse tout de même une raclette à disposition pour éliminer l’eau !

Le seul point positif étant l’emplacement à côté du célèbre restaurant le Rock et la plage .
Ce commentaire dénotera malheureusement avec les autres commentaires et nous aurions vraiment préféré mettre plus d’étoiles .

Zanzibar è bellissima e lo è ancor di più se si è ospiti di questa bellissima struttura vicinissima al mare, camere molto pulite ed accoglienti, personale molto gentile e disponibile, ottimo prezzo, colazione super. Consigliatissimo

Very humble bungalows with amazing view (depending on where it's facing). Great location especially if you want to eat at the Rock Restaurant (there are a few other restaurants around as well). It is noticeable that a women is running the place, Gillian and her team are doing amazing work, everything is very well thought. We loved our Shanuo experience and would have stayed again.

Good place for your stay in Zanzibar. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The view on the ocean is amazing. Everyone is nice and helpful. Such a pity there's no restaurant in the Shanuo.

Abbiamo soggiornato qui in viaggio di nozze a seguito di un safari al Serengeti. Siamo stati benissimo, personale fantastico, la manager Gillian estremamente gentile,sempre presente, disponibile e ci ha dato un sacco di informazioni. Posto pulito, accogliente, colazione ottima. Un angolo di paradiso nel vero senso della parola. Lo consigliamo vivamente e contiamo di aver la possibilità di tornarci presto! Complimenti a tutto lo staff

The room was nice and clean. Breakfast was served on the balcony and was delicious. Something was walking on our roof at night and it was scary, probably a bird ????????. The beach and the location of the hotel was amazing. Thank you so much.
