We found ourselves traveling through Monroe during a monsoon of a storm so we decided to find a room to stay put in for the night. Honestly this was NOT our first choice but because of the weather several hotels didn’t have power and every other local hotel I called was booked. Our safety took precedence so we grabbed that room! I was leery because of previous reviews about cleanliness and area safety. 1) The front desk gentleman that answered the phone originally also checked us in, he was OVERLY accommodating, respectful and kind!! We were pulling a small trailer and with the construction/renovations to the motel the parking was limited. He literally made room for us to park! AT 11pm!! As a bonus he also spoke perfect English! 2)The room was great, clean and newly renovated - no carpet ????????????????! The bed was a bit lumpy but… I’m a freak and I always check for stains and bed bugs…. The mattress is in an enclosed dust cover and all sheets were bright white and clean! 3)As for the area: Motel is Indian owned (I assume), Hispanic mix with the construction crew, geographically appeared to be in a predominantly African American populated area but I NEVER felt unsafe or scared and I did go out to the car (across the entire parking lot away) several times…. tired and forgetful! It is centrally located in Monroe just off I-20. I would recommend! The only reason for 4 vs 5 ⭐️ is the parking lot size and the bed. Price was totally worth it! Rooms included mini fridge and microwave, breakfast was slacking - a honey bun and juice/coffee. Plenty of breakfast locations locally! Save $$ on the room and eat a great breakfast elsewhere! If ever back in the area I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
The Hotel was being renovated, so there was a lot of noise and construction materials to deal with.
The location is not safe.
My room was newly renovated and was very nice. The A/C unit in the room was very noisy. Sounds like the compressor is out of balance.
The Clerk was very personable, friendly, and helpful.
Overall, I would wait until the renovation was over before staying there again.
They need to put trash bags in the rooms and they need more than one roll of tissue paper and they need to have breakfast food in the morning instead of snacks.
February 29,2024 The Stanley steamer guy knocked, barely when I asked “ can I help you?,simultaneously walking to the door.. He tried to come on in. I had to slam it thank God I had the chain on! When I told the short Indian I think he consistently where that lil funky New Orleans Jacket man that claims he is not the owner but actually is .. He said oh he didn’t mean anything, he wasn’t thinking. As a young woman in a room alone “the carpet cleaner guy” could’ve got hurt. The short owner not owner responded with maybe he just didn’t hear you.. Sir? What kind of stuff yall got going on here? but find somewhere better to stay specifically INSIDE. It’s 40$ a night for a reason.. If it wasn’t for business i’d be elsewhere. Also stay dangerous ????????????????????
I would leave 0 stars if I had the option. We didn’t get to enter the room and the lady that is not from this country told us we had to leave because she didnt like us.
It needs to be renovated ASAP extremely outdated. It was quiet and check in was easy and simple. You need better filters in smoking rooms. I didn’t realize I was in a smoking room until I paid and checked in I was too tired.
This place is your average money saver hotel.
Rooms are decent. Good costumer service.
On the internet shows that they provide breakfast but in reality is only coffee, juice and honey buns.
The only thing that is hard to understand is that rooms are advertised as low as $50 something dollars but ended paying $65 or something around that price.
I was really surprised at the clean, large roomy room. Nice comfortable bed. Great cable and wifi. It made me feel inviting to the point I slept like a log. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was ok,quite.. room was.clean but like always I spray lysol before I touch or layed down, the contental breakfast was honeybuns and coffee sooooo if you want more find another place. And call before you commit....
Location is nice & these are nice rooms the price is ok my room was dirty the sheets wasn't changed stains and hairs all over them the tub & sink was dirty & there was no toilet tissue I probably wouldn't stay long if I stop there again but overnight was just fine
