Pretty much a toasted corn beef and sauerkraut sandwich. Mountains of meat but little flavour. Which was tabled as a signature sandwich. Nothing to rave about but the accompanying potato salad was very good.
My partner had the hamburger which appeared to be good.
$60 for sandwich and burger is overpriced.
Nos serveurs étaient aimables et souriants.
Ils ont même fait un effort, pour prendre la commande en français.
La tarte, pomme cannelle est excellente et le Café latté glacé et l'Ice the est très bon (Attention, c'est un vrai thé sans sucre.)
Le serveur a été vraiment très gentil, en m'offrant un 2eme café qui lui restait en trop.
Les portions sont très généreuses.
The pickles were unexpectedly delicious and the service was great!
The decor was 1970's with a very brown vibe going on. This is a Jewish deli with a casual atmosphere second only in my experience to Katz deli in New York.
The guy at the front desk taking take out orders was excellent and attentive. He kept us informed of the progress of our order and chased before we needed too.
There were lots of choices on the menu but we focused on the Signature Sandwiches. These were served on double-baked bread, with pickle spears. Along with this you also get a side of either potato salad, macaroni salad or coleslaw.
I went for "The Westwood". This was roasted turkey, coleslaw and Russian dressing. I made the mistake of choosing more coleslaw on the side. Forgetting that american coleslaw is not the creamy mayonnaise luxury which we are accustomed to in the UK.
My husband had the "The Canon". The filling in this was corned beef, pastrami, swiss cheese, coleslaw and russian dressing. He opted to pay extra for the steak fries, which was a wiser choice than the coleslaw.
We absolutely did not need two sandwiches, When we ate them later that evening we managed to finish one half each. They were massive! The Canon was more flavoursome than The Westwood. The coleslaw wasn't for us.

아마도 현재 모든 비벌리힐즈의 식당 중에 가장 인기있는 식당 중에 하나일 듯 합니다. 한 자리에서 75년이라는 세월은 그만큼의 내공이 축적됐다는 의미인데 그 손맛을 보기위해 두 번 방문해 봤습니다.
#분위기
가게에 들어서면 한쪽으로 길게 늘어서 있는 쇼케이스가 보입니다. 각종 절임과 샐러드 그리고 생선과 육가공품들이 먹음직 스럽게 진열되어 있습니다. 절로 군침이 돌고 기대감도 마구 상승시키는 효과가 있네요.
#메뉴
오너가 유태계의 아메리칸이라 정통 아메리칸과 Jewish 풍의 음식들이 다양하게 구비되어 있습니다. 다양한 생선가공품과 육가공품이 기본적으로 준비되어 있는 델리이기 때문에 수많은 컴비네이션으로 클래식한 정통 아메리칸 델리푸드를 즐길 수 있네요.
#클래식
많은 카페를 가봤지만 이집만큼 다양한 클래식한 음식들을 서빙하는 곳을 보지 못했습니다. 소세지, 패스트라미, 로스트비프, 로스트터키 뿐만 아니라 다양한 연어, 스모크피쉬, 피클드피쉬 등 다른 곳에서는 보지 못한 델리제품들이 즐비합니다. 게다가 Jewish 스타일의 Kugel 이나 Kishka 같은 음식도 눈에 보이네요. <클래식 푸드 = 콤포트 푸드> 이런 공식이 성립된다면 이 집은 콤포트 푸드의 천국이 아닐까 생각이 됩니다.
#기본기
기본기가 정말 뛰어납니다.
마치 손맛 좋은 집은 반찬만 먹어봐도 알 수 있듯이 이집 메뉴를 구성하는 중요한 요소들의 맛이 훨등합니다.
라이트 하면서 적절한 산미의 코울슬로.
부드러움과 상큼함을 겸비한 감자샐러드.
완벽한 맛과 식감의 해쉬브라운.
짜지도 과하지도 않은 햄.
크리스피의 최고봉 베이컨.
호방한 메론 반쪽 메뉴 등등
기본이 휼륭하니 그 기본으로 만드는 요리들이 맛이 없을리가 없네요.
#베네딕트
단순 심플하지만 베네딕트의 모범입니다.
특히 홀렌데이즈 소스가 참 맛있는데 다른 곳에 비해 산미가 적지만 캐나디언 베이컨과 머핀 그리고 계란을 융합하는 능력이 훨등합니다. 거의 인생 베네딕트 수준의 훌륭한 요리였습니다.
#샌드위치
어마어마한 양의 맛있는 미트와 코울슬로의 조합은 그 상상을 초월합니다. 버거울 거라 생각했는데 전혀 그렇지 않은게 이집 샌드위치의 특징인가 보네요. 부담 갖지 마시고 그냥 받아들이고 흡입하면 됩니다.
#치킨누들
이런 치킨스프가 캠밸 치킨누들의 원형이 아닌가 싶습니다. 담백하고 감칠맛 절적한 시원한 콘소메 스타일의 국물은 가희 환상적입니다. 얇고 부드러운 누들은 소프트하게 목을 타고 넘어갑니다. 해장과 동시에 식욕을 돋아주는 최고이 치킨스프였습니다.
여기에 Matzo ball 이나 Jewish 정통 고기만두인 Kreplach를 넣을 수 있는 옵션이 있습니다.
#해쉬브라운
이집 해쉬브라운은 완벽합니다.
크리스피한 겉면과 촉촉한 속... 완벽한 겉바속촉의 조리인데다 향기로운 버터향이 식욕을 불태웁니다.
#Smoked_White_Fish
이집 수준을 확인하기 위해 아침 계란 메뉴에 생선으로 주문해 봤습니다. 비린내 작렬일 줄 알았는데... 이외로 생선 풍미가 좋고 짠맛이 강한 꽤 맛있는 생선이였습니다. 원래 미지근하게 서빙하는 지 살짝 미지근한 것 말고는 계란과 함께 잘 먹었습니다.
솜씨 좋네요 ㅎㅎㅎ
Loved how they served pickles before the meal starts too, unfortunately we didn’t get a picture of our corned beef sandwich which was perfect but I highly recommend Nate n Als.
