HOTEL FLJÓTSHLIÐ AND SMÁRATÚN FARM ECO LODGES
Desde hace tres generaciones, la granja está regentada por la misma familia Disa que participó en el famoso programa de televisión Échappées belles.
La granja Smáratún, cerca de Hvolsvöllur, es una explotación de ganado vacuno y ovino en libertad de 300 hectáreas. Dirigida desde hace tres generaciones por la familia de Disa, ofrece una amplia gama de alojamientos, desde campings a casas de campo, así como el restaurante Barn, con la etiqueta Nordic Swan, que sirve productos locales. Las habitaciones son un poco anticuadas, pero cómodas y limpias. Las actividades para los visitantes incluyen senderismo, equitación y pesca.

We stayed here one night. Wokeup the next morning to find we had a flat tyre. We spoke to the manager about this and thought maybe she could help or arrange assistance for us since the hotel is far out in the nowhere. She advised us to go to the gas station (13 kms away) and ask them for help there.... how exactly are we supposed to get there with a flat tyre ? So basically, they don't care. They got your money. That's what is most important to them ;)
In all fairness, she brought us free snacks and water while we waited 4 hours in the lobby for help to arrive.
They are friendly for sure. Friendly but not really helpful unfortunately.
The dinner was terribly over priced. I ordered a lamb ragu. It was COLD and bland with a strange, watery consistency. My husband's and son's food was fresh and hot though. Breakfast was ok - The usual spread. Nothing out of the ordinary.
Our room was filthy. Stains on the bedding, floor had not been vacuumed or mopped. There were hair strands on the sink (presumably from the previous guest). All the furniture is ancient
