FOSSHOTEL LIND ^{* * *}

Ubiquitous Foss hotels (think Premier Inn if you’re in the UK) - basic but clean and friendly. Room was neat, well heated, comfortable and all we needed. The Lind is situated a short walk from the city centre. It’s also right next to a bus interchange/hub so there’s access to all parts of the city. The receptionists were all friendly and helpful. Breakfast (the only meal available) was standard but excellent, with efficient and friendly staff. There is a good selection of restaurants, bars and even a 24h grocery store within a 5 minute walk. We would happily book this place again for its convenient location

It was a relatively cheap hotel to be in the middle of reykjavik and a wonderful experience. Helpful service people who really want to help, free parking in the middle of the town, night service and pick up location for aurora borealis hunting across the street. Breakfast buffet offers everything for every taste. Bathroom a little narrow but fully functional. Bed was large and super comfy. Full recommendation!!

In terms of location and room, it was Ok and the breakfast was nice. However, I mistakenly left some items in the room (GHD straighteners) and immediately on returning home I both called the hotel and emailed them. I have neither had a call back or reply to my email. Even to say they haven't found them. So poor customer service. Surely when the room was cleaned for changeover the staff found these and handed these in? It would seem not.

Wir waren im Fosshotel am Ende von unserer Rundreise untergebracht und kennen andere Hotes in Island. Hier würde uch eher von einem Hostel oder Jugendherberge sprechen. Viel positives gibt es hier nicht zu berichten. Die Lage ist nicht wirklich schön. Eine Straße weiter, eine verlassene, eingestürzte Lagerhalle, mit viel Graffiti. Ansonsten viel Dreck und Müll. Aber nun zum Horel selbst.
Sobald der Fernseher im Nachbarzimmern an ist, hört man alles. Auch die normalen Gespräche der Nachbarn bekommt man mit. Was an und für sich eine Zumutung ist.
Auch die Größe der Zimmer ist nicht wirklich groß. Wir hatten ein Beistellbett für unsere kleine Tochter mit im Zimmer. Dadurch konnten meine Frau und ich nicht mehr normal ins Bett kommen. Wir mussten vom Fußende hoch einsteigen. Das Bett wurde so verschoben, dass meine Seite direkt an der Gardine war. Platz, selbst für einen kleinen Koffer war dadurch nicht.
Das Badezimmer sind auch eine Zumutung. Etwa 3.5 Quadratmeter. Die Tür geht 2mm an der Klobrille vorbei, wobei die Toilette extra dafür gedreht war. Bei einer geraden Ausrichtung wäre die Badtür nicht aufgegangen. Es gibt keine Abgrenzung der Dusche, nur den Duschvorhang. Beim duschen wird der ganze Boden nass.
Den Roomservice gibt es nicht. Die Mülleimer werden nur auf Verlangen geleert und auch alles andere muss man anmelden. Dafür gehe ich nicht in ein Hotel.
Einzig allein die Mitarbeiter waren alle freundlich. Was den 2. Stern bedeutet. Alles in allem kann man dieses Hotel nicht empfehlen!
