Saludos ????????
However, our experience was marred by the micromanaging, rude and prejudiced host (apartment manager / cleaner).
Our check in process: We arrived two hours early due to our flight time, intending to only leave our bags in a secure location. The host greeted us with annoyance and repeatedly emphasized that check-in time had not yet arrived. They eventually reluctantly allowed us to store our bags in the office after confirming our willingness to wait.
When we mentioned having tours booked, the host rolled her eyes in an unprofessional manner. To our surprise, she presented us with a brochure from only one single company, claiming they were the only option for tours. This assertion contradicted the fact that there were dozens of tour companies operating in the main Lagos area offering similar if not identical tours. Moreover, the prices quoted by the host for these tours were higher than others, making it less appealing to book through her.
To top off our experience, we had an unfortunate incident with the host involving a towel. The host chased us down when she saw us holding a towel from the room, abruptly grabbing it from us and insisting that it should remain in the room. As we stood, still shocked and trying to process the abrupt confrontation, she reluctantly provided us with a dated cleaning rag from the cleaners’ cupboard, stating that we could take that towel instead if we wanted to. This encounter left us feeling uneasy and restricted in the use of basic amenities and services of the apartment we were entitled to (towels??). We feel it is essential for hosts to communicate their towel policies clearly and respectfully, rather than resorting to confrontational actions.
I don’t know how everyone else in the other reviews on here were treated, but from walking past and overhearing other guest’s check-in process throughout our stay, she was significantly nicer and friendlier to everyone else, laughing and joking with them and allowing early check in. The main difference between us and the other guests is that our appearance was young and ethnic, while the other guests were all middle aged couples of white background/appearance - so it left us wondering whether that was the reason?
Also a big downfall - it was staircase only so beware if you have heavy luggage, you’ll need to carry your own luggage up and down the staircase (several storeys if you’re located higher) as the host is unable to assist.
We were deeply disappointed by the host's discriminatory and rude attitude. It's unfortunate that such a beautiful property was overshadowed by the host's behavior.
