Tras unos diez kilómetros y una hora por una pista de tierra desde la carretera principal de Kayove (que se recorre en 4x4 o mototaxi), se llega a orillas del lago Kivu, en un entorno idílico. El Rushel Kivu Resort, un pequeño balneario en sí mismo, enclavado entre palmeras y una vasta plantación de café, da la sensación de estar aislado del mundo. Serenidad, calma y belleza caracterizan el lugar. Hay un restaurante en el lugar y muchas actividades: natación, voleibol de playa, piragüismo, senderismo y una visita a la estación de lavado de café Kinunu.

Prachtig hotel met verschillende logeermogelijkheden.
De weg er naartoe is erg zwaar maar eens terplaatse is het een paradijs.Een aangelegd zandstrand is werkelijk top.Mooie onderhouden tuin.Maaltijden van uitstekende kwaliteit.
Heel vriendelijk en gedienstig personeel.

Our stay at Rushel was pure luxury. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with great amenities and a nice hot shower. The restaurant serves amazing food, from delicious local cuisine to some more traditionally Western dishes for travellers missing the taste of home. The beach is beautiful and remote, and the view of the stars at night is incredible. Best of all was the staff, all of whom were attentive and kind and more than happy to make this the best stay possible. Thank you so much, we hope to return some day!!

five stars for our first night. The food was DIVINE (sambaza straight from Lake Kivu! and the dodo ...!!) and staff was absolutely lovely. one star for our second night: we were sideswiped by a wedding and our food, which we ordered around 6p, had clearly been sitting out and reheated when it was finally served around 9:30p (steak was gray and overcooked, mashed potatoes were cold, ice cream was melted....etc) With all of this being said I adored the location and the staff (Etienne and Martin were especially wonderful) and would highly recommend a weekend here when a wedding was not in progress :)
