This is a very good restaurant, with an interesting, back-to-roots philosophy. We enjoyed it and had a great time. The team is great. Food is delicious. Creative.

As negative points, I would have liked a bit MORE food for the price, and better desserts. Also, there were 5 or more waiters ON us the whole time, and that made us felt a bit observed, without the needed privacy to enjoy an intimate, tranquil dinner.

Great place to start our Budapest culinary experience. The service was so good and food brought a surprise every course !

Next level. One of the most interesting tasting menus at a Michelin star restaurant I’ve ever seen. The local wine pairing was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Highly recommended.

Simply the best culinary experience that I had in Hungary. Amazing vibe, Earth-shattering food, devoted and professional crew. You can feel the radiation of the soul the staff members bring in.

This michelin star place has to be one of the best In Budapest. Beautiful tasty dishes, good quality local ingredients used in a unique way with nice plating. The 15 course tasting menu with wine pairing is the way to go

Catastrophique, pas bon du tout , une bonne arnaque

Entering SALT, you immediately sense its magnificence. The perfection in every detail, from the elegant tables and lights to the impeccable decor, sets a grand stage. The waiters, professional in their simple yet elegant outfits, add to the ambiance.

SALT's commitment to environmental sustainability is impressive. Their efforts to forage herbs from nearby forests and utilize produce from their own garden make the food not only interesting and healthy but also exceptionally tasty. The 15-dish menu I chose was a journey of flavors, each dish delightfully tasty without relying heavily on spices. The chefs' knowledge in combining ingredients to create superb dishes is evident.

The non-alcoholic drink menu was equally impressive. Their unique, fermented drinks were a highlight, adding a distinct touch to the meal.

Overall, dining at SALT is an experience of refined tastes and sustainability, making it more than just a meal, but a celebration of culinary art.

Ungarn lohnt sich längst nicht mehr. Besser Sacher und Sansibar Restaurants

Me and my girlfriend had the tasting dinner menu at Salt. Food was delicious but rushed service ruined the experience.

The Food
The food was of great quality, and presentation of the food was also top notch! Yet the flavors did not leave me with the wow feeling and feel there is some room for improvement; therefore 4 stars.

Service and Atmosphere
I take these together because they are interlinked. Although the staff of the restaurant was friendly and the Chef came multiple times to the table to explain about the dishes, we felt very rushed in the enjoyment of the meal. You must know that this restaurant operates two shifts, one starting at 18:00 and one at 20:00. The aim is to serve the dishes at the same time for everyone who is in the same shift. This way it was not possible to really be at ease and savory the flavours and feel relaxed. Staff was waiting around your table and the moment you put down your cutlery (or even when you start the movement of putting down your cutlery) they immediately rush to take away your plate and bring the next dish. This was a big minus of the concept which makes us not going to return here despite living around the corner. The rushed experience is also palpable when the staff explains the dishes: you receive a very quickly spoken explanation of the dishes - some dishes I was not able to grasp the explanation and could not asked clarification as the staff had already rushed off.

We spent c. 400 Eur for two persons but were not satisfied with the experience at all.

Update in response to the reaction of the restaurant:
Very disappointed about the customer service instead of calling me to discuss the matter the restaurant puts the blame back on the customer via a review too.

All the dishes are prepared at the same time and were already waiting to be served - if I had asked to slower the tempo of the dinner I would have received a dish that was being kept warm under a heating lamp. In addition, during one course the staff even attempted to remove my dish while I was still eating - a disgrace I certainly gave them immediate feedback about.

Finally, I did express appreciation for the food (which was only asked at the very end), but feedback on the service was not asked. Of course, it would not have been good - as you also can see from the comment of the restaurant they don’t care about good service at all. Recommend to avoid this place at all costs.

P.s. My big smile was certainly not caused by the restaurant but by the company I was with.

The perfect 3hour experience to discover the cuisine of Hungary at a whole new level. I Can only recommend this journey to both Hunarians and foreigners.

Je crois que c’est le meilleur restaurant dans lequel j’ai pu dîner à ce jour. Chacun des 15 temps était surprenant et savoureux, s’enchaînant à merveille. Ce fut comme un voyage dans la campagne hongroise. Le service était d’un tel niveau que je crois que ce mot n’est pas approprié pour décrire ce que nous avons vécu : il conviendrait mieux de parler de chorégraphie, de ballet ou de valse. Bref, entre surprises et bons conseils (celui de prendre les jus), je vous remercie pour ces merveilleux souvenirs.

Very unique and delicious meals with superb service but I paid a lot of money (135k HUF / 350 EUR for 2 people) and left hungry. On the other hand my girlfriend was quite satisfied.
The portions were really small, I was literally starving in the first hour because I arrived hungry to the restaurant (maybe that was the mistake) and the first 5 dishes were basically just tiny tiny portions separated by 5-10 minute breaks. If you want to drink as well, expect overpriced wines.

Our table was “taken out of the room” even though we had a booking. We were on time & we were turned away. Offered a glass of wine at the bar as reconciliation. Then when we left we got charged £230 cancellation fee. Very shady & dishonest company.

It was OKish, though I did not feel, I wanted to go back. Less, but bigger courses would be more valuable.

Wowwwwww amazing experience

You can have a very special experience in this place. Not only the food, kind waitresses and waiters who gonna give you very detailed stories about each foods, and the vibe in the inside is architecturally unique.

Food is amazing and very tasty. Flavour is bursting from each dish and each dish looks beautiful. Food is very earthy, yet some dishes tasted like a meat dish. The umami flavour was done so well! Service was outstanding, and very attentive. It was a bonus to interact with the chefs and sommelier.

Une des meilleures expériences culinaires que jai pu avoir, et pourtant j'ai eu la chance de tester bien des adresses étoilées voir même triple etoilees. Le Salt et son chef propose une expérience incroyable. Des saveurs nouvelles. Des associations gustatives inattendues. Bref un régal pour les papilles mais aussi pour les yeux. La proximité du chef et de ses équipes est très agréable et rend cette expérience encore plus unique . Félicitations pour cet art conceptuel auquel nous avons pris part le temps d'un diner. Mention particulière à la serveuse qui a fait l'effort et l'honneur de présenter les jus accompagnant les plats en Français
