This place is dangerous. I went to rinse my feet and the water was so hot I got first degree burns all over. The boiler was set way too high, imagine if I was a child and what could have happened. Days of my trip were ruined due to the extreme pain on my feet. When I told the management, they just said, “yep, the water is hot” they didn’t seem to understand the danger or care to fix it. I didn’t even get an apology. Never stay here.
Excellent service at hotel and good environment, convenient location. The reception sir Miguel is very kind and knowledgeable, he gave us lots of helpful information, really appreciated!
Miguel is so lovely and friendly, rooms are absolutely ginormous but I can’t not acknowledge the ginger boys (gato) I love and miss them so much. Thank you for being so hospitable and having great cats xxx
In monteverde ideally located for visiting the cloud forest. Laundry service on reception very efficient and very very good value for money. Large spacious rooms clean but a little dated. Quite picturesque and quaint only two stories high so not a big hotel. Even though monteverde is not necessarily a big place this hotel is in the centre with easy walking to a variety of local restaurants
Nice place with very friendly reception. I love the lush tropical vegetation between the rooms. Quiet place.
Supermarket just a few minutes away. The lodge only serves breakfast if 6 or more make reservation. We went to Taty's, a local bakery a couple minutes away. Many restaurants nearby. I would stay here again.
High on the hill is the quaintest lodge at reasonable prices.
Our room had two double beds with extra blanket and pillow because the attitude can make it cooler.
The bathroom has a large shower and as usual in Central America, don’t flush the toilet paper as the sewerage can’t cope.
There is a dining hall for meals but we didn’t partake on this occasion.
It’s a steep steep steep hill down into Monteverde where you’ll find plenty of touristy shops but also some great places to eat.
Despite the walk up you can catch a taxi for $1-$2 USA but we’ll worth giving it a go by foot first.
Only breakfast is served here, but it's good! Free WiFi, but doesn't reach the rooms. Beautiful gardens and rocking chairs outside the rooms so you can relax and enjoy the nature. Great staff, informative, helpful, friendly. Lots of restaurants, supermarket, bakery and walks nearby, tour pickups. Enjoy your stay
Beds are comfortable. good water pressure although no hot water, no AC making the rooms smell very musty and damp. Thin walls you can hear every sound that the other rooms are making. Laundry service was great (about $4 a lb). Overall, it's decent.
Lovely little hotel. Comfortable beds and functioning bathrooms. :) shower and water pressure not super great. There is no heating or cooling elements in the room and you don’t want to open windows because of the bugs.
