Beautiful hotel right on the coast. We did two tours, both with Elia as our guide who was absolutely brilliant. She was very informative and fun and was clearly passionate about wildlife.
The other staff were also friendly and helpful.
There was lots of wildlife to see even within the hotel grounds, which was amazing!

Super location, great rooms (cabins), lovely staff and full board. Even has a free clothes washing service that was very welcome! Also a "jetty" so no need to jump in the sea when you arrive.

I will start this review with the caveat that Drake Bay is a remote place and your general expectations for luxury should be lowered slightly. With that said, Drake Bay Wilderness Resort is undoubtably the best piece of property in Drake Bay. The premises are stunning and have 270deg views of the bay. The rooms are basic but clean and have great A/C. Unfortunately some rooms are better than others, and after one night with a nice updated bathroom, we came back and were placed in a room with a very outdated and sad bathroom. The room also had no wifi. Reception did move us upon our request. Unfortunately, we had a few other issues with the reception, and we found them quite awkward, sometimes rude, and hard to deal with. They were not proactive with providing info about the resort, our excursions/timing/it’d interest/what to pack, and other details regarding the resort. Food was very average (breakfast was good and juices were always good) and my boyfriend and I needed to go to town for better food by the third night. All alcoholic drinks are close to $10.
For the location and views I’d recommend it, but not for longer than 1-2 nights. Staff is really accommodating for taking you into town on their boat which I appreciate. Also loved using the kayaks they had on hand!
The service staff was absolutely incredible and deserved their own shoutout. Easier to chat with than the reception. Thanks to Mauricio, Henry, and Alonso!!! They were the best.

Drake Bay Wilderness Resort is a piece of Paradise.
Location, Food, Staff, Excursions were nothing short of Phenomenal.
Extremely friendly and helpful. Out of the three resorts we stayed during our 11 day adventure to Costa Rica, Drake Bay was by far the Best. Wildlife is abundant.
Special Thanks to a wonderful man Henry- Mr Jeff says Hi by the way.
The saddest part about vacation is leaving the people we grew close to.
