I went to the Opera house recently for an evening concert.
The Opera bar was busy and the Concert Hall was full.
They played Beethoven's Third Symphony and Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major. The Sydney Symphony played beautifully as usual and the soloist, Vikingur Olafsson was excellent.
A great concert. Bit expensive though.
Ticket $168 - Ok, it's a world-class orchestra in a world-class venue.
Dinner $85 - Ok, good food and a great location, but the service was dreadful at The East Chinese restaurant at circular Quay. So bad I won't go there again.
Parking $45 - Too much
Petrol $22 - Too much
Tolls $30 - Too much
Total $350, 28% of which is annoying
Ce qui est vraiment dommage c'était le paquebot géant qui stationnait aucun endroit où l'on voit vraiment bien l'opéra, en pleine ville. Il occupait vraiment une bonne partie du panorama, ça gâche vraiment le paysage
街もおしゃれだし、賑わっているけどゴミゴミしていない。
Great bar in front with a fabulous view of the bridge...and delicious pizzas.
A faire !
