They could renovate the hotel a bit; the place feels like a place from 60s. The breakfast buffet is ok but the coffee is terrible ; in a country where coffee is so tasty, it is a shame that they offer coffee which tastes so bad. Probably the cheapest option they could find.

The second day, we came from a walk very tired and looking forward to a cup of tea on the balcony of the suite we booked (we paid extra for the upgrade and stayed for six nights) but we realized that they didn’t provide new tea bags in the room so we went to reception to ask for tea bags. To our shock, we were told that the tea bags are ‘a gift’ from the hotel only on the 1st day of the stay…? We stayed at hotels all around the world and never heard such a ridiculous excuse to cut the costs…. We went to the supermarket to buy teabags….Great service, especially when you pay extra and book a suite which would probably stay empty if we hadn’t…

Situado em frente ao Mar, num local calmo e muito bonito. Contudo as instalações a necessitar de um refresh e um look mais moderno. Staff muito simpático. Muito Obrigado ! ????

Definitiv keine 4 Sterne.
Lage ist recht gut um die Insel zu erkunden.
Personal ebenfalls sehr freundlich.

Allerdings sind die Zimmer schon sehr altbacken und runtergerockt.
Das Bad könnte mal eine gründliche Reinigung mit Entkalker vertragen.
Leider fühlen sich hier auch Silberfische zu Hause.
Balkon nicht sehr einladend (seitlicher Meerblick)
Frühstück war bis jetzt das schlechteste was ich in einem Hotel erlebt habe.
Auswahl extrem dürftig.
(Kaffee war aber top)

Povoação, Hotel do Mar
We visited this town in São Miguel Island many times. We always stay at Hotel do Mar.
The location of the hotel is perfect. The hotel is not a 5 star , yet we feel very good in this hotel. We always have a room facing the Ocean . The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean is very pleasant.
Povoaçao is a very picturesque municipality . The vegetation is lush and very green and there are always many flowers according to the season. You have , azaleas, camelias, hydrangeas, and many others. They border the fields and roads and make the trip a wonderful experience.

Bardzo życzliwa i pomocna obsługa. Pokoje czyste, zapach przyjemny, widok z balkonu bardzo przyjemny, samo miasteczko spokojne. Idealne na przystanek podczas zwiedzania. Śniadania bardzo smaczne.

Ein Hotel in dem man sich wohlfühlen kann. Direkt am kleinen Hafen mit schönem Ausblick vom Zimmer. Sehr angenehm war das Whirlpool! Der Poolbereich ist zwar klein, war aber im Sommer nie überfüllt. Frühstück ist dabei - ich finde das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis sehr gut! Sehr netter kleiner Ort - alles sehr ruhig!

Really nice location right in front of the port. View was super nice. Breakfasts are in buffet form so you can always find something for yourself. Rooms are simple but clean and quite roomy. Good for a 1-2 nights.

Seit 17.09. verbringen wir unseren Urlaub hier auf São Miguel. Der erste Eindruck war gut, die Zimmer sind sauber und das Frühstück völlig ausreichend. Wer allerdings Luxus im Urlaub sucht ist hier nicht gut aufgehoben. Für uns, die die Insel erkunden wollen aber eben genau richtig. Der Ort ist klein, schon ein wenig verträumt und es gibt überall eine gewisse Herzlichkeit.

L'hôtel est bien placé, notre chambre était spacieuse et bien agencée.
Nous avons pu bénéficier d'un surclassement en chambre double SeaView, ce qui est toujours une agréable surprise en arrivant! :)
Mention spéciale pour le petit déjeuner avec un vaste choix et de bons produits : ça fait plaisir sachant que peu d'établissement proposent des petits déjeuner aux Açores.
Enfin, la piscine avec Jacuzzi ouvert jusqu'à 22h permet de terminer sa journée en beauté : au top!

Gros problème avec l’insonorisation des chambres, on entend tout ce qu’il se passe dans les autres chambres et dans le couloir (voix, sonneries téléphone et réveil, douche, pipi dans les toilettes, télévision, interrupteur… vraiment tout).
Matelas pas terrible. État global des chambres vétuste.
Petit déjeuner correct sans vraiment avoir de choix et de bon produit.
L’emplacement de l’hôtel est à 45 minutes de tout mais idéal si vous cherchez à être au calme.

Reservamos 6 personas para una noche, nos escribieron un email informando que había un festival en el pueblo, pero no especificaron que el festival estaba frente por frente del hotel y que no podríamos descansar en toda la noche hasta las 5 de la mañana que terminó el festival. Nos arruinaron el descanso que era por lo que habíamos pagado (un precio nada barato). Quisimos poner una hoja de reclamaciones y la recepcionista tardó muchísimo en darnosla, incluso tuvo que hacer una llamada para encontrar el libro que resultó tenerlo muy accesible y bajo el ordenador. El trato de la recepcionista nefasto, nada amable, ni comprensiva. Añadir que las camas no fueron nada confortable y que las habitaciones no están bien aisladas de ruido. No lo recomiendo para nada, una experiencia para olvidar.

So ganz verstehe ich die guten Rezensionen leider nicht. Die 4 Sternw waren vielleicht in den 80ern. Das Zimmer ist mehr als in die Jahre gekommen. Das Schloss der Balkontür ist kaputt, so dass sie sich nicht mehr schließen lässt. War vor allem 3 Nächte sehr schlimm, da ein Misikfestival stattgefunden hatte. Wir wurden zwar "vorgewarnt", aber so spät, dass wir nichts anderes mehr hätten buchen können - und ja auch vorausbezahlt hatten. Es hat geheißen, Musik bis nach Mitternacht, doch bis 4:30 bzw 5:00 morgens - da denkt niemand daran! Und am Balkon war auch ab dem Zeitpunkt wo sie anfingen zu spielen keine Unterhaltung mehr möglich. Hieß für uns, 3 Nächte fast keinen Schlaf!
Der Balkon war im übrigen bei weitem keine 4 Sterne. Im Bad die Armaturen sind denke ich auch nie gewechselt worden, Stockflecken am Boden.
Leider finde ich keine Möglichkeit Fotos einzustellen.

Ruhiger, schöner Ort mit zwei bewachten Stränden. Preise in den Restaurants voll in Ordnung.

Im Hotel: saubere Zimmer, freundlicher, professioneller Empfang. - Gerne wieder.

Hotel muy tranquilo junto al mar, en el paseo marítimo. Ubicado escasamente a unos minutos de los restaurantes y supermercados.
En cuanto a la habitación, para un 4*, deberían de mejorar las camas (incómodas y ruidosas al moverse), mobiliario algo anticuado y apenas había enchufes en la habitación, en el baño ninguno.
Instalaciones: bastante buenas, con piscina y jacuzzi exterior. El agua del jacuzzi, a mi entender, muy caliente para agosto (salimos sudando).
Desayuno: muy poca variedad y repetitivo. De dulce únicamente había croissant, el bizcocho de cada dia y pancakes fríos.
Limpieza: claramente a mejorar (reposición de gel de ducha, tazas de café sucias del día anterior, pasta de dientes en la pica del baño).

Etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber trotzdem sehr gut!
Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick; das war sehr schön. Es gibt einen Pool und einen warmen Whirlpool. Frühstück war in Ordnung. Insgesamt haben wir uns wohlgefühlt und würden wieder hier übernachten.

Nous y avons passé 2 nuits, parce que Povoaçao est à ne pas rater et que cet hôtel présente un excellent rapport qualité prix. Pas de restauration cependant, il faut aller dans un des petits restaurants du centre ville, pas gastronomiques mais corrects. L'hôtel est quasiment sur le port, lieu tout à fait privilégié donc.
