My husband and I got married here in 2013. It was a perfect spot for our intimate wedding. We then returned for our 10-year anniversary in 2023 and were pleased to see how lovingly cared for the place has been. We love the sacred geometry and can feel the echoes of a reverence, peace and "high vibrations". Not to mention an excellent location for exploring the town of Vila Franca. The breakfasts are delicious featuring local cheeses, breads, fresh squeezed orange juice and local pineapple and other fruit. It's a beautiful place to wander the grounds with plenty of nooks and crannies to explore, as well as a great base to explore the island. Thank you and we'll be back!

This was our favorite stay (out of 4!) On the Azores!! What a magnificent space. You can feel the very special, sacred energy is still there. In a very positive way. The former abbey is enormous compared to the amount of guests and rooms. The pictures hardly do justice to how magnificent this place is. There are very spacious hallways and large rooms. It's really authentic, yet modern enough. We also loved the light and inviting living rooms that are situated all around. Breakfast is perfect and the hosts and people working here are really friendly. Thank you so much for everything!

This is the most unique hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The breakfast each morning can’t be beat. Cute town and within 30 minutes of a ton of great stuff on the island

Highly recommend. Beautiful restored monastery dating to the 16th century. Stonework, archways, towers, a cloister, many terraces and beautiful strollable grounds. The hosts are super nice as are the housekeepers. Pool very clean and well maintained. Simple but nice breakfasts - a hardboiled egg, various breads and fruit - altho the coffee was too weak for our taste. Our only issue was street noise so we recommend paying the extra money to get a room overlooking the cloister or the pool.

We had a lovely stay at this unique hotel. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were clean. At breakfast we enjoyed Azorean cheese, breads, and pineapple from the farm next door. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The roof top was a great spot for sunset. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a nice, unique and authentic stay.

Un lugar especial. La atención y el servicio es muy amable y profesional siempre muy atentos a lo que necesitas. El convento es muy bonito además de un lugar muy tranquilo, ideal para relajarse en cualquier de sus estancias: los salones, balcones, el claustro, los jardines con frutales o incluso la piscina.
Sirven el desayuno cada mañana con mucho mimo. Unos panecillos muy sabrosos (bolos lévedos), con mermeladas variadas, quesos, fruta (una piña exquisita que ellos mismos cultivan en su invernadero) etc.
No tiene parking privado como tal, pero se aparca de forma segura en la explanada de la entrada.
Está a 10 min caminando del centro del pueblo de Vilafranca do campo.
No tiene Aire Acondicionado pero no lo necesitas. Sus paredes de piedra mantienen muy bien la temperatura.
Era un antigo convento franciscano masculino, que data del siglo XV.

This was an amazing place to stay. The building is beautiful, wonderfully restored and maintained. The breakfast was amazing with locally grown pineapples, oranges, and bananas, as well as local cheeses and breads. The town is centrally located for touring the island, and the Convento is a short walk from restaurants in town. The owners were wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

Vollkommen anderes Hotel: historisches Flair wirkt authentisch, Substanz bestmöglich erhalten bzw. nachempfunden. Wenige Zimmer in weitläufigem Haus mit vielen verschiedenen Bereichen: helle Lese-Ecken, kuschelige Couches vor dem Kamin, Frühstückszimmer mit langer Tafel,... und überall Ausgänge zum Garten, in den schattigen Hof oder auf eine der vielen Terrassen hinaus.
Die Inhaberin und ihr Team geben einem das Gefühl, man wäre der einzige und liebste Gast. Wünsche werden sofort erfüllt, Wunder dauern etwas länger.
Für nur eine Nacht nicht zu empfehlen, weil dann nicht genug Zeit bleibt, um dieses schöne Haus ausreichend zu genießen.
Die Inhaberin und ihr Team geben einem das Gefühl, man wäre der einzige und liebste Gast. Wünsche werden sofort erfüllt, Wunder dauern etwas länger.

Wonderful, unique, and affordable place to stay. Beautiful, well kept grounds. Great views from the patios. Great authentic breakfast. The rooms are relatively basic but comfortable

Breakfast is the same every Day. No variation. The rooms had dead bugs on the walls and ceiling. We paid 750 euro for 5 days way to much.

All the rooms are very beautiful decoratesd and the best beds you will ever sleep in. Also when you wake up in the morning you feel so rested and rejuvenated. The breakfast is just so jummy with all the local products. Sometimes you just forget that this island also excist because hard to leave the comvento. The view from the balcony, room and roofttop are also amazing.
