Food was pretty subpar and the cafe latte lacked good flavor. Service was ok. They were very packed, so we got sat outside. It was chilly so they had the plastic curtains down and it just made the place look drab. The outside seating area definitely needs some tlc as it looks totally run down. Didn't really see the inside but just briefly walking through it, it reeked of seafood.
Sit inside don’t sit outside because they’re doing construction or it’s just hot. It doesn’t really have a view but the service and the food is excellent. The bathrooms needed some attention but overall it’s friendly there and the food was really good always good. We’ve gone there several times we’re locals.
I enjoy eating at Rio. It is in the heart of Old Sacramento which makes it a great restaurant to take family and friends from out of town. Parking on special weekends can be difficult but there is a lot near the restaurant that is convenient to walk to. The drinks are great and I personally love their cheese sourdough loaf! I would recommend it for brunch or a light lunch.
Just ate here and everything was great! The steak was perfect! Both of our meals were flavorful. We had Salmon and Filet Mignon. Appetizer was yummy ????. (Sourdough cheese bread) Megan was great! Thank you!
Ordered the Monte Crisco and fresh fruit. Took one bite and found a hair ????. Let the waitress know. She brought me back another plate. It was fried too long and did not taste good. She did not take anything off the bill and I didn't realize until after we left I never got my fresh fruit.
The steak bland, was decent the rest was excellent. I would have given four stars but they overcooked my steak. They did a great job correcting this issue and I was given a new one. The cocktails were great. The peach cobbler and Tequila key lime pie was fantastic!
We came here the weekend after Thanksgiving Day (11/25/2023). The food was good, and our waitress Christa was good. We were seated outside in the covered area. We spent about $100 (I still have the receipt) for the two of us for lunch. I thought the place was good and perhaps we might come back whenever we are in Sacramento. The one star rating happened after we ate. We walked to the deck area, and took a couple of photos of the bridge using our phones. This guy (I’m guessing he’s a manager or some supervisor) started yelling at us that we can’t be there. Blah blah blah. He treated us like a couple of little kids. He then proceeded to berate another employee for not locking the (double) doors. We came via the covered area and not through the double doors. That was such a turn off. We spent some good money and then be treated that way. The 3 service rating is not for the waitress. She did well. That “manager” made it a 3 for service and an overall rating to 1. I can spend money somewhere else.
It was my first time & I was celebrating a birthday. When coming in I let the waitress know I was there for my friends birthday & she pointed "Make a left around the corner." The friendliness was for sure not there. Our server was okay. The cheese bread was AMAZING. I don't know if I'd come back.
You can sit where you can see the water, but I did not. They didn't offer it to me, maybe you need to ask. I had the Jambalaya and I was surprised how very good it was!! I would have it again~
The atmosphere was ok, not super shiny but ok. The filet was 3/5, a little over seared. The waitress was a little overbooked and gave ok service. Desert smore cake was too hot and not very good.
Victor was fabulous. His knowledge of the menu and expertise of flavors and description was spot on. The crab melt truly off the chart. Loved the fresh made dressing on the a salad. First visit, highly recommended.
Thanks!
