Incredible little cabin on the river! The hospitality was refreshing and so appreciated. Loved it so much, we rearranged our travel plans to stay longer.
Today - Ate breakfast here expecting the wonderful Mexican food they used to serve here! Nope. This has changed. Spoke to the server and owner They can no longer serve Mexican food (wanted Huevos Rancheros), since it is "too expensive to prepare," as was their wonderful Eggs Benedict. Now you can expect regular fried eggs and omelets and pancakes which are also served at most other restaurants in this area.Food is ok, but no longer a distinctuve difference! So I guess we go back to the River Inn tomorrow where we are staying and eat eggs and pancake breakfast there. So disappointed since it used to be really good and I liked really good Mexican food! We won't be back since there is no longer a reason to eat there!
A great little spot down in the hallow. The cabins are cute and clean. The staff is friendly and the meals nearby, if you don't want to cook in your fire pit, are delicious.
Cabins very basic
Reason to stay is ambiance on creek ..no wifi tvs etc. A little outdated musty as cabins sit under trees. Nice fireplace inside..n outside too with decks. Pricey for one nite..ouch!
Right on the Big Sur river, Ripplewood is great stay for adventurers and romantics alike. Traditional cabins with loads of character. Firepits/bbq's next to the Big Sur River. If you're a fan of Jack Kerouac, you'll get the romance of it all.
Only went to the Cafe for breakfast, and it was really, really good. Got French toast and a side of bacon, both were excellent. It's definitely worth the stop if you're hungry.
Very cool little spot. Felt like traveling back in time. There are few amenities but what is there is well maintained. Great way to experience nature without actually camping!
We did not stay at the resort. We were just visiting Big Sur for the day and wanted breakfast. Their cafe did not disappoint. The service was very friendly and the food was tasty. They kept the coffee coming which was really nice. If ever we are in the area again, would definitely make a return visit to the cafe!
Had a great little time at Ripplewood this past weekend. The cabin was as described and was an easy walk down the hill to the creek. Comfortable and quiet even with being close to the hwy.
There were no issues for us or our kids, and we would love to come back again. Pictures on the site do it justice, and the little shop they have had all the necessities in case you forget anything.
Breakfast is served until 2pm, and it's the best breakfast I had in Big Sur. Staff were very friendly and super helpful, going above and beyond to help me with a flat tyre. Coffee is great - definitely worth a stop.

Staff were awsome!
Confort rustique mais suffisant pour ceux qui ne cherchent pas des 5 étoiles à tout prix

Don't love camping but this is close to it and loved it.
