En 1920, Sam Vella, un Maltés, decidió abrir este restaurante después de haber trabajado siete años en hoteles de San Francisco. Al principio es sólo una tienda plantada en Tiburón Beach donde vende bocadillos. Hoy, Sam's Café es conocido por todos y algunos San Franciscanos hacen cola para degustar allí los mariscos del día, frente al océano. El ambiente es muy acogedor y los productos del mar, especialidad de la casa, son excelentes. Por otra parte, lo que no arruina nada, los precios no son exorbitantes. Buena carta de vinos.

This place is EXCELLENT! The food, the view, the wait staff. It is worth taking the detour to Tiburon. We always go a couple of times if we are in the Bay Area or close. ALWAYS. It is a destination for my husband and I each visit.
Their French onion soup, onion rings, grilled fish, salads, mixed drinks, and they have a nice wine selection. We always eat on the deck as long as the servers are out there. They have propane heaters if you need them, plus a basket of blankets. I wish we lived closer and I would go there weekly.
There are some fun little shops on the same street as Sam's that are fun to peruse before or after, too. It is a great area with a view of the City. Watch the waterfowl swim around, and see the boats on the water - it's a little bit of heaven.
