Well I was all hyped up about my first visit to NOLA. But......I know that I will not book at this Hampton Inn again!!!
1st off they charge for bottle water, secondly I have NEVER been on a Hotel where they ran out of towels :-(
(Clean or dirty)
Yes I wrote TOWLES! Not even a hand towel. Okay well the three strike rule is what did it for me. Look at my view from the windows. Generally speaking most of my reviews are good and I just tell the truth. No lies told here! The 2 stars are for the lady that originally checked us in. I believe her name was Denise and she said that she was helping out the site we were at. But she usually worked at a different Hampton.

Nice place to stay

I liked this place. Close walking to the Quarter, and Canal street.
No parking any where, $44 a day for valet.

This hotel would benefit from some air refresher, especially in the elevators!!!! Other than the smell, our room was pretty big and comfortable. I liked the walk-in shower instead of tub. Good parking garage right behind hotel for $20/day

Lovely room (upgrade to King suite without asking), but as a Diamond member, had to wait til almost 5pm to get in and then treated like sh@t when asking for our comp water hours later after realizing it was not offered at check-in. (Surly girl at the desk was irritated I asked and then sternly told me - "You know you only get water ONE time.") Empty soap and conditioner bottles in the shower (found out too late), no bath mat. Broken shelf in the bathroom. Mediocre experience at best.

The helpful staff made this hotel. It was clean and in a great location to walk to the trolley or bourbon Street. Park in the garage next door if you want cheaper parking than valet. The bathroom left a lot to be desired, but it was just old. Was clean!! Otherwise the room was nice. Don't touch the phone in the room, it hasn't been cleaned since the hotel opened.

First off, the "every other day clean" is a joke. We stayed at this hotel for 9 nights and had to call down every other day just to get towels. The towels we got were so thin and full of holes they practically served no purpose. The staff would bring new towels but leave all the old ones so our room looked like we were hording all the towels in the hotel. Upon arrival the shampoo and the body wash were both empty and we had to call three times before they were filled (over three different days). They never refilled or left any rolls of toilet paper which led us to have to call down for them multiple times. Not to mention the disgusting base of the shower which I have attached a picture of. This hotel is only getting good stars for the convenient location but besides that there isn't really anything else positive at all about this place. Horrified that this place can actually be as high rated as the other reviews have shown, maybe they got new management and it's gone down hill. Really gives Hampton inn (which we've stayed at alot) a really bad name.
Also the sign in the bathroom that says "call us if you forgot anything" really should be changed to"call us when WE forget something"

This place is a gem. It's two blocks from the French quarter and Bourbon Street, but it's more quiet and relaxed. Good breakfast. Plenty of restaurants just down the street. It's in walking distance of everything.

I’ve held out as long as I could on writing my review but to return to a freezer box simply because I had to demand service to at least take the trash from my room is ridiculous. The house keeping staff adjusted the thermostat to 50 degrees while I was away from my room. Here are my troubles:

1. On day of arrival when checking for cleanliness I found the Kleenex box in the bathroom was used to catch somebody vomit yet it had a Kleenex stuck from the top as if it were ready to use. But after pulling that one it made me look because the next Kleenex didn’t pop out. Immediately reported this issue and received a new box of Kleenex but no one asked if I needed to discard the previous guest vomit.

2. The tub was not cleanest. The sink, tub and toilet was leaking. I reported after we could no longer put up with this issue. Haven’t used them yet so I’ll provide an update to if it was really resolved. In addition, I did not request anyone touch up my room only that we can get clean towels, more toilet paper, Kleenex and that my trash is dumped. Shocked and disappointed the front desk staff told me my request has to be made 24hrs in advance. After a face to face visit to the desk to request services they did come in to give new towels, dump trash but the also removed our personal towels from the room and no one could explain why. Not sure how the staff mixed up up a pink towel to belong to the hotel.

3. There was a gap at the bottom of my door so if any peeping Toms were in the building they could definitely see into my room with the right tools or efforts.

4. The breakfast was cold on Friday. The potatoes were overly seasoned and I have no reason to believe any type of heat was applied to them. The woman in the breakfast area was really nice but the man (I think he prepped the food) was really mean and nasty towards guest that were waiting on things. He was even mean to the his colleague as she tried to inform him of things guest were wanting.

Finally just a recommendation the hallways could use a different aroma because they have an unpleasant smell.

Very good hotel. Complimentary breakfast. Nearby to Bourbon Street. Tram is in front of hotel to travel. Indian restaurant Namaste Nola at walking distance. Breakfast is amazing

My three children and I got there after getting off a cruise. It was well before check in time. They gladly let us check in early, no charge. Upgraded our room, no charge. It was a very spacious and very comfortable. It felt private and was very quiet. We slept great. The location is very close to everything you would want to see and in a nice area, with other nice hotels. You can easily walk to many attractions or delicious seafood restaurants. Bourbon street is a short walk away. We felt safe.

Diamond Member - This place is a complete dump. Refused a bottled water, thats a first. No towels, shampoo, or body wash. Had to call, then ask a room attendant, then go down to the desk and was told I would get it later bc I was ‘on the list’. Breakfast was a disaster. Just overall avoidable

Edited after response. Room was booked as Double Queens. The beds are actually Full Size and not Queen. If you are intending on having to share a bed, best to make sure that you’re comfortable being on top of one another because they are not Queens like promised

TERRIBLE. I give it 0 stars. This was the WORSE hotel experience I have EVER had. The room was just ok the bed made noise soon as you sat on it and it was hair in the dingy tub. The number one reason for 0 stars is that my sister and I were trapped in an elevator our first night for over 30mins. I pushed the button in the elevator, a girl by the name of Tamiya answered I told her we are stuck in the elevator she asked what elevator and at the time I said I don’t know we are stuck between 10&11. My anxiety was high and we just wanted to get out to use the bathroom which is why we were on the elevator, we were told the restrooms were on the 2nd floor. So since I didn’t know what elevator I was on Tamiya at the front desk hung up the phone on me, just RUDE and showed no empathy or compassion. The call never disconnected like she put me on hold so I couldn’t call back from the elevator. I had to Google the # to the hotel and call directly. I had to call 3x to ask when is someone coming to help us. We kept getting the run around about the building engineer is coming to get us. My Mom was downstairs waiting on us when I called to tell her we are stuck in the elevator and I asked her to go around to the front desk to ask how long. She was met with Tamiya she told her those are my daughters stuck in the elevator and how long is it going to take. Tamiya told her they are waiting on the building engineer to come so my Mom asked well are they on property and when is that. She went back to ask Tamiya a question and she turned her back and walked away from my Mother. I took matters in my own hands and called the New Orleans FD to assist. They arrived fast and that took time to get us out. The “building engineer” walked with us near room, he asked us if he could get us some water, some snacks or something. We said sure, well he never showed back up. We were like WOW. So, I eventually went downstairs to get us some water. After that whole ordeal we needed something to drink. Thursday morning 2/22 /24 we checked out of the hotel. The guy at the desk that said he was a manager never looked us in the eye. I asked him for a copy of my incident report he told me he couldn’t give it to me and he doesn’t have it because it’s been sent off. I’m like I have every right to have that and he tells me what their policy is and I can write my own. He then said I can take a picture of it so I said ok fine I’ll take a picture of it then he says he doesn’t have it. I’m like you just said I can take a picture of it. Again, no empathy from him either, no apology, no anything and he still was looking down and not making eye contact. Just RUDE. If anything as a manager, GM, whoever I would’ve come to knock on our hotel guests door and say I’m very sorry for what happened to your family. You don’t know how this has affected me/us/will affect me/us and we got nothing but basically your card will be charged and here’s your receipt. My Mom even stepped in to say something to this “manager” because of the RUDENESS. She said I’m 75 yrs old and I have been staying in hotels and even had to live out of hotels for work travel and I have never been treated like this. You all have the worst and nasty attitudes. It was like they don’t care at all. Working in the service industry with these types of attitudes and behaviors is unacceptable. There is no way I would want this staff to represent my “brand” (Hilton) You never know what may happen and you have to be able to deal with it in the industry but show some empathy and compassion. I have never in my life experienced being trapped in an elevator and I have lived in buildings with 20 plus floors and have been on plenty of elevators. The only nice/decent people here was Carl in valet. Davida who checked us in and Earl and Janet in the breakfast area, that’s it. Humility and Integrity is something that takes a lot of work to acquire and it doesn’t seem as though these employees have not done the work. They need to go to the Ritz Carlton training classes on customer experience and do better!

Nice modern and clean hotel located 2 blocks from Canal Street which is perfect because you are far enough away from the constant noise and smells and close enough to walk to basically everything in the French Quarter. Our 2 bedroom queen room was clean, refreshed daily, and very spacious. Free breakfast was tasty and hot and staff were attentive and quick to respond to any issues. Would definitely recommend stating here.

Awesome experience. I truly received southern hospitality from Earl, who is responsible for the morning breakfast. He made our morning start each day. Earl is a true asset to Hampton and their guest. Thank you, Earl.

Nice rooms, friendly service. Clean and in a good location. While not in the Quarter proper, it's close enough. You can easily walk 1/2 mile or so to the best places.

Been trying over a month to get an invoice from a stay. No one answers the phone or the emails. Really bad service.

Very unhappy. Front desk is non responsive. Found a cockroach in the room and rooms are not cleaned thoroughly.

Nice looking room, but dimly lit with no means to make it brighter. Anemic (though typical) shower. Good included breakfast, but only apples as fruit, no variety.

Biggest complaint was Housekeeping. My group (of 30) complained about their rooms not having towels, cloths, soap bars, shampoo restored daily. Multiple complaints to the desk were fruitless. Passed on? Who knows. Addressed? No.

Writing this after reading Hampton's response:

Pretty obvious from reading the reviews left by others that my complaint is all too common and reoccurs constantly. Whatever they say they are doing, it isn't getting done.
