Im August waren wir für vier Tage im Musango Safari Camp. Es waren wundervolle Tage, die wie im Flug vergingen. Wendy, Steve und Graham sind tolle Gastgeber. Sie kümmerten sich um uns mit großer Freundlichkeit und einer bewundernswerten Geduld. Das Guiding von Steve und von Graham und auch von Conrad ist exzellent - in der obersten Liga. Ihre Kenntnisse sind außerordentlich. Das Camp und die Unterkünfte lassen keine Wünsche offen. Für die vielen liebevoll platzierten Details ist Wendy verantwortlich. Ach ja: das Essen war auch eine Klasse für sich!

Das Musango Safari Camp wird von den Inhabern Steve und Wendy Edwards seit ca. 30 Jahren geführt. Man merkt es, denn man fühlt sich sofort zuhause. Steve und Wendy umsorgen einem unaufdringlich und herzlich zusammen mit Ihrer professionellen Mannschaft. Die Ausstattung ist liebevoll bin ins kleinste Detail. Die Hütten im Busch stehen weit auseinander auf der (Halb)-Insel im Kariba Stausee und bieten viel Privatsphäre. Ein Mini Pool, eine Vogeltränke (tolle Fotomotive), sowie eine kleine Liegewiese bieten Möglichkeiten zum Entspannen zwischen den Safari Ausflügen. Das Essen ist hervorragend und die Unterhaltung spiegelt den 30-jährigen Erfahrungsschatz der Familie Edwards wider. Die (Halb)-Insel ist mit einem elektrischen Zaun vor gefährlichen Tieren geschützt. Aufgrund ihrer Erfahrung können Steve und Conrad, unserem hervorragend ausgebildeten Guide, den Aufenthalt an den Wünschen der Gäste ausrichten. Aber man begibt sich gerne in die Hände von ihnen und lässt sich überraschen, wohin die Safari Tour führt. Von gemütlichen leisen Bootsfahrten auf einem Potonboot zur großartigen Vogelwelt, mit dem Schnellboot zu abgelegenen Ecken des Stausees + Wildbeobachtungen vom Boot aus, bis zu klassischen Touren mit dem Jeep in der Safari Area bieten sie eine Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten, die unvergleichlich sind. Die Tierwelt ist beeindruckend. Von Bushbucks im Camp, über eine Herde Hippos am Ufer die man jeden Tag von der Terrasse aus beobachten kann, bis hin zu allen klassischen Wildtieren ist alles zu beobachten. Die 4 Tage vergingen wie im Flug. Wir kommen wieder, dann aber für eine Woche.

We have spent 3 wonderful days at this lodge on the shores of Lake Kariba. The guiding was excellent, particularly regarding the birds. Steve Edwards and his son Graham can answer every question you have, regarding birds , mammals, nature in general. We had great encounters with elephants. The food was very tasty, the hospitality outstanding. The lodge is so lovingly built and decorated. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly. We hope to be able to visit again in the future.

This is the most memorable bush camp experience I have ever had. The setting is spectacular, the staff were discreet, helpful and friendly, while Wendy and Steve were attentive and excellent entertaining and knowledgeable hosts. From one knowing nothing of birds I am now entranced! Conrad was an excellent guide on a pontoon trip down one of the estuaries and I watched enthralled as he fed the fish eagles... unforgettable. Too many memories to recall.
The room was wonderful, with mere netting between me and nature with hippos grunting a few score meters away. The bed was comfortable and welcoming and a shower under the stars a delight after a day tracking a lion and viewing the wildlife up-close-and-personal.

He died in 2004.
I grew up here till i was 6, this is the best place you can be on earth according to me.

Heavy is the heart that leaves Musango. This place is overflowing with character and blends seamlessly with its surroundings. Take for instance, the little tree frog who lives in the cupboard under the stairs and is the resident 'announcer of the rains.' Wendy and Steve went over and above to make our stay extraordinary. Sundowners on the beach with sumptuous steak rolls. My dad was able to do some fly-fishing with the most magnificent backdrop. Then there was the encounter with 'the brothers' a trio of lions. This I will never forget ♥️ It's the details - the little jars of bird seed in every chalet. The birds!!! I could have stayed an extra week just watching the birds! The private dip pools, the beautiful artifacts that Wendy has lovingly collected over time and found perfect spots for them all over the camp. The staff, all of whom were an absolute joy to speak with. The food was sublime (we had malva pudding on the first night which was ahhhmazing). Kariba has long been my favourite place in the world and I have every intention of returning to Musango with my husband so he can experience its wonders. Until then, I'm going to brag about it to all my friends and eagerly await the publication of 'Steve's epic sayings' book!!

What a fantastic authentic camp, great location, so rustic, super comfortable rooms with a fabulous view.
Steve has the ability to make your stay so memorable, he is a great story teller, he had so many experiences to share , so humorous and scary at the same time.
Food was real home cooked meals , absolutely delicious.
Such an amazing stay, thank you to the staff.
