Reasonably priced and friendly hosts that give you a taste of Scotland hospitality. I recommend it!

We stayed here for 4 nights. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms were beautiful and tasteful. They were very friendly to us even though we were not good at English. I would highly recommend this place to Japanese people.

Absolutely lovely stay. Lizzie and Gary were extremely accommodating to a late check in, questions prior to arrival and personal recommendations to specifics in Edinburgh. Breakfast was delicious, the whole space was quaint and everyone in the family was very friendly. I brought my brother for a long weekend to buy a bespoke suit jacket and he used their recommendation for a tailor which was perfect. We stayed in a triple occupancy room and it was perfectly comfortable for two fairly tall people to share. All around wonderful.

Lizzie & Gary sono molto accoglienti e mettono a proprio agio. La guest house è molto vicina alla fermata dei bus che conducono al centro in pochi minuti (per chi è abituato a camminare, il centro si può raggiungere anche a piedi). La guest house è curata e familiare allo stesso tempo; le camere, seppur un poco piccole, sono accoglienti e molto pulite. La colazione è top (tradizionale ma varia, fatta in casa e buonissima)!

Wir haben ein wunderschönes Wochenende in Edinburgh verbracht und sind um so froher dieses Wochenende in dieser Unterkunft gewohnt zu haben. Wir haben uns direkt wohl gefühlt, die Gastgeber waren herzlich, das Frühstück prima und das Zimmer sauber wie auch stilvoll eingerichtet. Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmstens weiterempfehlen!

Haben hier leider nur eine Nacht verbracht. Sehr herzliche Menschen. Tolles Frühstück. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Parkmöglichkeit hinter dem Haus. Bushaltestelle ca. 100m entfernt.

Cant recommend this guesthouse enough!..great location,clean and very welcoming...breakfast was amazing..didnt need any food all day whilst exploring edinburgh..enjoyed an early evening meal washed down with a couple of beers in the leslie pub..lizzy is a lovely bubbly character with no end of knowledge and advice..we wouldnt dream of visiting Edinburgh again without securing kingsway guesthouse first...????????????

Nous y avons séjourné durant plusieurs jours et avons été conquis par le lieu, sa décoration, son atmosphère, le soin apporté aux chambres ainsi que par la gentillesse et les conseils (pubs, restaurants , visites...) de nos hôtes. Les petits déjeuners sont absolument excellents et chaque jour vous avez la possibilité d'opter pour une nouvelle suggestion. Un moment réellement très agréable !

Nous avons passé 5 nuits chez Lizzie et Gary.
L'emplacement est idéal, à 20 mns à pied du centre ville. Il y a des restaurants tout proches. Le quartier est très calme.
Les propriétaires sont très gentils et très disponibles. Ils sont de précieux conseils.
La chambre que nous avons réservée était spacieuse, joliment décorée, il faisait chaud, presque trop ???? et la salle de bain avec douche très agréable et bien entretenue. Très bonne insonorisation également.
Le petit déjeuner préparé par les propriétaires très bon avec beaucoup de choix, salé en particulier.
Nous recommandons cette adresse.

Tout était parfait. Nos hôtes ont été adorables, très disponibles. On s'est sentis comme à la maison. Le petit déjeuner était incroyable. Le quartier est calme, un bon compromis avec le centre ville à environ 20mn à pied.
Nous recommandons fortement ce lieu et ne manquerons pas d'y retourner pour notre prochaine escapade à Édimbourg.

Absolutely a wonderful home while visiting Edinburgh!

Excellent séjour passé avec un petit déj très bon et copieux pour attaquer la journée de visite et une chambre confortable. Une adresse à conseiller sans hésiter pour une visite à Edimbourg!

Fantastic place to stay in Edinburgh. It is in a lovely quiet residential neighborhood away from the tourist clutter, a few steps from a main road (A7) to downtown, where you can catch a modern double-decker bus every 3-5 minutes directly to Waverly, Prince Street and "Royal Mile." It is also a few block walk from the historic University of Edinburgh classic buildings next to Holyrood Park. A surprise discovery was the proximity (two blocks) to the Blue Bell Inn featured in Rick Steves travel video about Edinburgh because of the remarkably good quality cuisine. Because the upstairs "fancy" section was booked, we ate in the pub where we were served the regular menu (homemade gnocci with fresh spicy sauce, broiled salmon over rissotto) that was not your standard pub fare. This decision turned out to be serendipitous because not only was the food excellent, but it was "Trivia Night" with a very talented MC. We had a great time and got to chat with some locals, who were very friendly even as they outscored us in every round of trivia. I see another reviewer complained about the bus because of an old exact fare requirement. This is no longer the case, and in fact they have a very efficient credit card system that gives you a day fare wherever you want to go if you max out (after two fares). The best part of the Kingsway Inn was the hospitality and food. The hostess was utterly charming (and smart and efficient). She was ably assisted by her hard-working husband, who was the main chef, and her mother who showed us that the skill and graciousness did not fall far from the vine. they offered a wide variety of excellent fresh cooked breakfast options you could order with a very clear and logical card the night before (I don't know why it bugged my that other places had order cards that did not make sense, so this was another delight at Kingsway). Our room was amazing. Our private bathroom was modern, functional and very clean. One could see how the extraordinary interior architecture, including elaborate crown molding from its aristocratic past (think Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins), had been preserved as much as possible when it was renovated into a B&B. We would absolutely stay there again without any hesitation.

Lizzie and Gary are the best! Incredible hosts and amazing guesthouse. This was our second stay with them - absolutely incredible. Gary's breakfast is not to be missed!!

Highly recommend! The facilities were spotless, bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was amazing! Close to public transit that provided several busses that took us directly to the Royal mile. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance. Hosts Gary and Lizzie are very friendly and accommodating, this was by far the best guesthouse in our entire journey.

Une merveilleuse adresse avec une qualité d'accueil exceptionnelle accompagnée de précieuses et pertinentes recommandations. Notre spacieuse chambre triple, décorée avec beaucoup de goût, était très confortable, très propre et le petit déjeuner succulent et généreux. Un tout grand MERCI à Lizzie et Gary pour leur investissement et leur grande sympathie.

Unsere 5.te und letzte Station in Schottland. Leider haben sich die Vorschusslorbeeren im Kingsway Guest House, im Vergleich zu den vorherigen Unterkünften nicht erfüllt. Das heißt aber nicht, dass es schlecht war, aber die anderen Gastgeber, Zimmer und das Frühstück waren einfach einen Tick besser. Vielleicht lag es auch daran, dass der Urlaub zu Ende ging und es die letzte Station war.

We cannot recommend Lizzie and Gary’s guest house enough! Lizzie welcomed us early and allowed us to leave our luggage so we could go explore. When we returned, our bags had been brought upstairs to the room which we thought was so kind. The room was clean, the building was quiet, and the breakfast was just lovely. Lizzie and Gary are incredibly friendly and will take care of you with all your needs, including a button to call a taxi. You will not regret staying here!
