Reasonably priced hotel/guest house.
You have to check in using a code received online.
At the time we arrived at around 18:00 the front door was not locked and after dinner it was unlocked either.
Clean rooms of reasonably good size. Facilities (shower and bathrooms) are down the corridor, we did not experience any queues, but I doubt the hotel was full at the time we were there.
Our room had good harbour view. No TV.
The hall downstairs used to be a bar and reception area. It is now left as the reception which it open for guests with reasonably comfortable chairs, but the ambiance is not really friendly, so people do not really use it and it feels deserted.
The breakfast was pretty basic, but OK.
The staff comes only for the breakfast and for cleaning.
The staff was very friendly but did not really speak any English as they are not from Iceland either.
Free parking in front of the hotel.
The best place for a dinner, I believe, is right opposite the hotel

Never book this hotel.

We booked two rooms for a night.
One of room was assigned to the other guest and we cannot contact with the staff.
After that, we asked for refund from Booking.com. The Booking.com customer service said the hotel staff wouldn’t give any compensation because we booked it with the special prices.
The worst hotel I have ever lived.

Etwas steriles Hotel ohne Rezeption und sichtbares Personal. Zimmercode bekommt man per Telefon. Zimmer sind spartanisch ausgestattet. Sanitäranlagen sauber und modern. Großes Frühstücksbuffet.
Wir sind vor einem Sturm geflüchtet, hat alles gepasst.

I think this is the worst hotel I have ever been.
We were staying on the last floor (room 602), where there was smell of urine in the corridor, in one of the common bathrooms there were excrements not flushed, and most of all, we found a pair of used jeans under the bed, meaning that the room wasn’t cleaned properly before our arrival.
Last but not least, there are no curtains, considering that sun goes down at 11 PM it would be good to think about some shading.
Don’t waste your money for the Cecile Hotel of Iceland.

Room 602 felt like sleeping in a toilet:
Bad smell all over the floor;
Tiny size bedroom with separated beds;
Dirty room;
Rude personnel.
Avoid this accommodation which is also overpriced, there are better choices in the area.

Sehr nettes Personal, saubere Zimmer, jeden Tag frische Handtücher, Frühstück als Buffett, einfach aber reichhaltig und lecker, jederzeit wurde nachgelegt, bevor etwas alle wurde.

Estancia de 2019:
De nuevo nos encontramos con otro hostal en un marco envidiable, pero con falta de atención.
En este caso, ni siquiera tiene recepción, solamente un teléfono al que llamar si tienes alguna duda o hay algún problema...
Te envían un mail con tu número de habitación y un código que la abre.
Como digo el lugar es precioso, el pueblo en sí lo es, os lo recomiendo, nuestra habitación además con vistas a la cascada.
La habitación, muy bien, con armario, lavabo interno (aunque perdía), camas bien también, la única pega, era la moqueta, no muy depurada de limpieza.
Tampoco estaban muy finos los baños, con algún desperfecto también.
Por otro lado el hostal es un laberinto si quieres usar sus escaleras, al final te obliga a usar el ascensor que hace un ruido infernal poco fiable, : S
Tratándose de un pueblo en una zona poco visitada, no hay apenas ruido de "vecinos".
Sin embargo, el wifi no va muy bien...
En cuanto al desayuno, normalito, no tan variado como en otros sitios, aunque los trabajadores muy amables, no obstante, el café, el peor que hemos tomado en Islandia, hehe, pero bueno, nada grave.
Por cierto, tiene zona común con mesas, pero no tiene cocina en sí, solo un microondas.
En definitiva, no está mal, y el marco es increíble, pero podría estar mejor sin demasiado esfuerzo.

This place is not worth the price you pay.
- Did not receive email with code like they say. They had a hard time finding the reservation when I called. No front desk or staff on site besides during breakfast.
- Room smells musty
- Shower experience is terrible as others describe. No hot water, just semi warm. Water goes absolutely everywhere. The hand soap smells like a chemical cleaner.
- The curtains come in 3 pieces for 1 window. They do not fully cover the window and do not block out any light.
- The free breakfast is super limited. The deli meat in the refrigerated case looks old. There is no bread or butter.
- Mattress is very lumpy and uncomfortable
- Red patio tile floor in shower and room feels dirty
Not sure why the price is so high for such bare minimal essentials. Would never stay here again.

El hotel es lindo y comodo, no podes ingresar antes de las 16, no te mandan el mail con los datos pero a las 16 llega el encargado

I won't come Back. Place to sleep, take shower and continue trip, not to stay. Rooms are small, shared bathrooms are not best quality

Hôtel bien placé, petit dejeuner excellent et varié!
Accueil en autonomie qui n'est malheureusement pas au point car nous n'avons pas recu le code par mail. Personne pour nous accueillir mais un numéro de telephone disponible et qui repond.
Chambre grande et confortable mais les douches à l'italienne innonde la salle de bain, il y a une raclette pour evacuer l'eau.

Buen alojamiento para dormir, baño compartido entre habitaciones que no estaba muy sucio pero tampoco muy limpio. En la zona común la máquina de café no funcionaba, daba error “Cleaning overdue” y no funcionaba nada, por lo que no pudimos usar el agua hirviendo de dicha máquina para nuestros fideos.
El desayuno incluido, según booking no lo incluía pero al llegar allí, un empleado que nos vio nos preguntó si no desayunábamos, le dijimos que no lo tenemos incluido, y nos respondió que es gratis para todos y que pasemos. Faltaban 10 minutos para el cierre del desayuno y esperó a que desayunásemos, muy amable, y agradecidos a él que nos ahorramos el ir a una gasolinera. Hotel recomendable para dormir en la estancia por Islandia

The hotel is extremely outdated. It looks like nothing has been changed since the 90s. The lights in the room are still outdated flickering fluorescent lights. The bathroom was also horribly designed. There is no lip on the floor to keep the water in nor is the floor sloped towards the drain so it gets everywhere in the bathroom no matter how careful you are. There is a shower curtain (held up with old electrical wire) but it doesn’t reach the floor so the water it catches falls down and splatters. Additionally, the WiFi signal does not reach the room I stayed in on the second floor, so the free WiFi was unusable. The only positive I can say is the breakfast was good. It could be a nice place with a renovation.

The price-quality is under zero. We had a room with shared bathroom and shower for 200€…

Also, very uncomfortable check-in with calling (there no one answers) and overall experience is for max 80€.

What is good: restaurant nearby is gorgeous and tasty.

The room is way too small, there is no hanging space, the light is way too dark, it is extremely noisy, there is only one bathroom for one floor, there was a snail in our room, the beds are bad and it is way too expensive for this room. After there is no towel at the shower exit, I fell and hurt my shoulder.

Katastrophal. Bin nach 20 Jahren Pfadfinder wirklich einiges gewohnt, aber dieses „Hotel“ ist wirklich unter aller Sau.

•Einrichtung ähnelt einem liesblosen Gefängnis (4 Bett-Zimmer mit einem
Kasten, dessen Türen nicht aufgehen, einem Nachttisch und einem Waschbecken, das war’s)
•Eine Dusche für ein gesamtes Stockwerk, sehr rutschig und spartanisch eingerichtet
•Fenster lassen sich so gut wie gar nicht öffnen (zu 4t auf 14 m2 sehr stickig)
•keine Möglichkeit zu kochen/essen zu kühlen
•extrem hellhörig, Türen zu Gang nicht dicht, hört die Personen über uns beim Toilettengang
•Betten Jucken
Für ein Hotel zu dem Preis (70€/Nacht/Kopf) absolut überteuert, Massenabfertigung, sehr unpersönlich.
Auf gar keinen Fall hier buchen.

Catastrophically. After 20 years of boy scouts, I'm really used to a lot, but this "hotel" really sucks.
•Staff cannot speak a word of English
• Furnishings resemble a loveless prison (4-bed rooms with a closet whose doors don't open, a bedside table and a sink, that's it)
• one shower for an entire floor, very slippery and spartan
• Windows can hardly be opened at all (to 4 tons on 14 m2 very stuffy)
•No possibility to cook/refrigerate food •Extremely poorly soundproofed, doors to the corridor not tight, hears the people above us when we go to the toilet
•Beds itch For a hotel at the price (70€/night/head) absolutely overpriced, mass processing, very impersonal. Definitely don't book here.

Etablissement très bien situé avec un Check-in original : quelques jours avant j’ai reçu un mail avec le numéro de la chambre et le code d’accès. Sans réception ni de personnel sur place à part pour le petit déjeuner l'établissement semble un peu froid. La chambre située sous les toits est grande, fonctionnelle, propre et dispose d'une belle vue sur les environs. A l'étage il y a deux salles de bain à partager avec les autres chambres. Le petit déjeuner buffet est bon mais avec peu de choix. Pour ceux qui voyagent en autonomie, une grande salle à manger commune bien équipée est disponible au rez-de-chaussée.

Hôtel sans réel charme et dans lequel on ne croise pas grand monde mais très pratique et bon marché sur la péninsule de Snaefellsnes. Concernant le check-in, on reçoit toutes les infos par mail quelques jours avant. Codes sur toutes les portes. Pas de réception. Chambres spacieuses et propres. Petit déjeuner très léger mais encore une fois, prix imbattables.
