Open boat in the winter time is kind of dangerous. We did not expect that we will be exposed in open air (-13 degrees) for 2 hours boat trip with no cabin!. As a result we all have been frozen and ill after that trip… of course we did not get to see any whale which was one more disappointment on the top.
Sadly we didn’t see any whales on the first day of the whale-season. The staff however was extremely kind and gave nice information. We got extra suits to stay warm and dry. And in the end we received tasty hot cocoa and a delicious home-made cinnamonroll!
The whole tour was super fun and we did see a Whale! They were also super accommodating! We missed our original booking slot due to a road closure and they were super helpful in rescheduling us. At the end of the tour we got cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate (std ones but after a couple of cold hours out in the bay, it felt amazing!)
This was a fun experience. We saw three sp*rm whales while on the boat! The captain and crew were great as well and really knowledgeable. I just would not recommend this for people who get motion sick as a lot of people on the boat were sea sick!
Good company. We took whales and puffins tour in July 23 and it was as expected.
We managed to see puffins, whales and dolphins. They provide with suits, but I recommend you take a hut as the wind can be quite cold even in July.
Additional bonus was a story about flatty island.
Everyone was very kind and saw many whales. But as an avid animal lover it felt very harassing to the whales. They clearly weren't comfortable. I drove very far to have this experience but felt so sad leaving. I will not be posting online any photos or supporting whale watching until better practices are in place. It felt very much boats racing to get over to them and they then immediately went under they didn't want to be bothered. And we saw the same whale many times. It felt harassing. We saw them now let's move on. Not keep stalking. Two boats in the bay racing and circling whales. Very sad.
A much better experience but maybe not as popular but a boat ride if you see a whale or two great. But I felt very much a part of a HUNT. Not my vibe.
Educational moments were also minimal. I would like to know more about how North Sailing supports these species. Funding, research, etc. Crew seemed to not have any answers. Just seemed very commercial and not a protective process. Highly disappointed. My whole trip was planned around Husavik. I changed my plans and immediately drove back. It was very sad and disheartening. Would not support whale watching in Iceland until they can do better to protect these beautiful giants. They deserve it. They are mammals and feel and experience stress. It's not okay.
Fantastic team and well organised whale watching trip. Once we spotted a whale, the captain came a bit closer so we can see it better, the team was trying to spot the animals, told us facts about whales and on the way back served hot chocolate wit cinnamon buns to keep everyone warm on a cold day.
We had a wonderful and well organised whale whatching experience at the 1st of November. We saw a lot of humpback whales and the guides were entertaining and they gave us interesting information. We had the feeling that they really care about the whales and they are very passionate. We can fully recomand whale whatching with North Sailing.
Great service and professionalism. The guide gave us so many infos about these beautiful whales and we were lucky to see some of them. We also got extra clothing from the team and at the end hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls.
I think that the boat was a little too full and not everyone could have the chance to see the whales from above. But I think that depends on the people too (if they decide to move a little bit around and give the place to other people too).
Overall it was an amazing experience and i am grateful to the team for making it so beautiful.
Spotted some Puffins and a Blue whale
Really wonderful crew and such a beautiful way to experience Húsavik
Be sure to rug up as it gets extremely cold out in the water

Battello enorme, non adatto all osservazione.
