Das Hotel ist irgendwie cool, da es wie ein Internat in einer Schule ist. Zimmer völlig in Ordnung für eine Nacht. Das Frühstück war echt super. Parkplätze kostenlos vorhanden.

I would not return to this place it is very cheap and ugly and seemed like a nursing home turned into a "Hotel".

직원들은 친절해요...조식도 그냥 그냥 드신 접시는 직접 치워야 해요..객실도 그냥 그냥 깨끗해요..
근데 2성급 호텔이 아무리 성수기라도 좀 비싸네요...

Zimmer sehr klein mit Wendeltreppe in obere Etage, Bettwäsche total zerknuddelt, verwaschen, nur 2 Steckdosen. Betten in unterschiedlicher Höhe. Sehr kleines Bad, Duschvorhang, Ablage total rostig. WLAN mit Code gratis. Wasserkocher, Haar- und Bodywash vorhanden.
Abendessen sehr gut und nette Bedienung. Frühstück okay.

This is not a hotel, but a residential school which rents the room during the summer break. The complete equipment are worn out school furnitures and alike. The shower was rusty and stinky. This was by far our worst stay in Island.

We arrived at the hotel at around 1pm . We wanted to know if an early check-in was possible but the reception was closed and there was no way of contacting them outside of their operating hours.
The hotel is actually a dorm ( as already pointed out by many) and the water really does smell of sulphur. No shampoo/ shower gel was provided.
No Television in the room .
The heating was extremely noisy so we had to turn it off , even though it was really cold night because we just couldn't sleep with the loud gurgling sounds it was making.
There are 2 gas stations , a supermarket , a swimming pool and a diner nearby .
At dinner, we tried the reindeer burger . It was delicious ! We were served by a lovely and pleasant man who made Origami and let our son have one of his creations :)

Located in a quiet place in Egilsstaðir with the backdrop of scenic forest.

The rooms are definitely dorms. Or former dorms. That being said they’ll do for a stop over on the way around the ring road. The hotel was in a decent location and did have beautiful views of the lake and mountains.

Man merkte sofort das es sich um ein Internat handelt. Mehr Sauberkeit wäre erwünscht. Frühstück war nicht abwechslungsreich, aber man konnte satt werden.

Het niveau van dit hotel komt meer in de buurt van een hostel dan van een hotel. Menu in het restaurant is beperkt en geen koffie na het avondeten. Kamers worden heel erg warm als dd hele dag de zon erop heeft geschenen. Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

decent hotel to stay at when doing the ring road. The room was unique in that there was a loft with a spiral staircase. Curtains were not blackout curtains. No mini-fridge so no way to store any food

Unser Zimmer hatte einen schönen Ausblick. Das war dann aber schon das Positive. Der Begriff "Hotel" führt in die Irre. Es ist ein Ort zum Übernachten, mehr nicht. Die Situation ist in anderen Rezensionen zutreffend beschrieben. Unser Zimmer war mini, auch nachts sehr hell und hatte eine völlig unbehandelte Decke. Das Bad war eine Zumutung: zu eng, ohne Mülleimer, Toilettenpapierrolle fast am Boden, ekliger Duschvorhang. Das Schlimmste waren die Feuchte und der Geruch in Zimmer und Bad - trotz immer geöffneter Fenster. Es roch modrig und die Sachen waren klamm. Das Frühstück war bescheiden. Auch das Drumherum stimmt nicht. Die benutzte Bettwäsche aus den Zimmern liegt stundenlang auf dem engen Flur, Berge von Toilettenpapier stapeln sich im Flur. Mit Abstand die schlechteste Unterkunft während unserer 16-Tage-Tour.

Finding the lobby entrance was a little confusing being that you walk past 2 or 3 other doors that also look like entrances. As a loft room, the layout was a bit odd. We were in a triple room. We were both confused that they didn’t put two beds up in the loft while being very impressed they did manage to get one bed up there. The two beds on the bottom floor were just cramped. The bathroom was one of the smallest we had during our trip. The shower was a bit cramped and not much space to put toiletries. Never mind toiletries for 3 people.
Still, it was a good price and a great location for someplace just to spend the night during a road trip.
