If I could give this hostel 10 stars I would. My boyfriend and I called very late one evening (9pm) without a reservation, under bad weather and after a very long day driving a very stressful 95 road. Aday was the best host ever. He waited for us and gave a beautiful, clean and accesible little room for couples. He understood we were very tired and made the whole process so easy. Aday's attention that night and the morning after was magnificient and he spoke spanish (win!!). I fully recommend this hostel, the shared kitchen is gorgeous and fully equipped, we made a big breakfast with supplies we had in our camper van. You can see the sheep eating and resting in the valley. This was a big plus of our trip to Iceland, and even though it was raining the view of the valley is gorgeous,we hope to meet again!! Big thank you Aday!!

Ein wirklich sehr schönes und außergewöhnliches Hostel. Lage ist ruhig. In den Ostfjorden ist eh wenig los. Ein alter Bauernhof, umgebaut und sehr in Schuss.

Herzliche Chefin und beeindruckendes Frühstück. Frisch gezapftes Bier kann im Speiseraum bestellt werden.

Highlight waren die dortigen Nordlichter.

What a wonderful stay! Great facilities, kitchen, rooms, and lodge. The land was beautiful and the owner helpful (I wish I could remember her name) and she shared some great music with us for our trip!

Zimmer sauber, aber z. T. klein. Nette, geräumige Küche mit Vollausstattung vorhanden. Empfehlenswertes Hostel in Islands Osten.

Eine super freundliche Besitzerin, die sich sehr um ihre Gäste bemüht. Für uns hat sie noch eine weitere Nacht organisieren können. Die Lage mit dem Blick auf den Fjord ist traumhaft. Das Frühstücksbüffet ist sehr gut und reichhaltig. Das optionale Abendessen ist sehr lecker. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und man fühlt sich einfach sehr wohl.
Absolute Empfehlung in Island!

Gegen Gebühr kann man auch Waschmaschine und Wäschetrockner nutzen.

The hostel part of it is not great. For the cottages it may be different. It is old big house repurposed for the hotel, because of that there are issues of not having sockets in the room, pretty steep and narrow stairs, constant need to pass by other tenants room, not much space in general, etc. Not very comfortable stay, and also not cheap, if you can drive an hour more you can find much better guesthouses cheaper near the Egilsstaðir

Le restaurant propose un excellent dîner et petit déjeuner ! Le service est très agréable. Mention spéciale à la jeune espagnole qui était d’une grande gentillesse.

This is my third trip to Iceland and this is by far the best place I've stayed.
The sheets in my room smelled like fresh air and sunshine. When traveling I'm often confronted with sheets with strong smells , bleach and laundry soap, but to have sheets smell like the fresh sea air made me feel right at home.
The food for dinner was unbelievably fresh and tasted amazing.

Hier fühlt man sich Zuhause, herzlich willkommen und es ist einfach schön dort zu übernachten. Total freundliche Mitarbeiter die viel zu erzählen haben und denen man gern zuhört.
Wir hatten eines der Tiny Häuschen, alles gut ausgestattet. Waschmaschine/Trockner gibt es gegen Gebühr, was ja nicht so selbstverständlich ist in Island. Sehr sauber.
Frühstück kann man vor Ort im anschließenden Restaurant dazu buchen.
Das Restaurant ist ganz toll, sehr gute Küche und auch lokales Bier.
Wir fanden unseren Aufenthalt dort wunderschön!

Haben in einer der Hütten geschlafen.
Die Küche ist in einem anderen Haus welches zu Fuß schnell erreicht werden kann.
Es war alles sauber und gut ausgestattet.
Abend sind wir noch im Restaurant essen gegangen was auch sehr lecker war und zu empfehlen ist.

Really nice camping area attached to the hostel! Lots of room to pitch a tent and had electrical plug ins. Small kitchen for cooking (appears that you need to bring your own pots pans etc). Couple of showers and bathrooms which were nice and clean. Hostel also does a breakfast that you can pay for.

Nous vous le conseillons à 1000%
Premièrement, chouette petit logement 2 personnes, cosy, douillet et extrêmement propre !
Ensuite, le menus 3 services au restaurant était épatant !
Petite carte (gage de qualité), produits frais, locaux, fait maison.
Le vin était , aussi, de très bon choix et goût.
Le tout, avec un personnel sympathique et serviable.
Rien à redire, un petit havre de paix au milieu de notre périple.

Este hostel se merece, ya que no está en la carretera n°1 pero sin embargo de fácil acceso. Es un lugar auténtico, propicio al descanso y a la vuelta a la fuente. ¡Es sobre todo el propietario, Olafur, que era un verdadero flechazo, y que vive para el bienestar de sus huéspedes!
