My wife had booked a 3 hour Glacier ride with Skálakot Hotel and we had a great time unfortunately the winds where very strong but we still got our 3 hour ride in staff where lovely and very friendly the horses where amazing and the food on the restaurant was a delight also the cats in the stable where super friendly and nice to see after being away from our own pets for a few weeks would highly recommend

We stayed here for our first 3 nights of our honeymoon in the master suite. First and foremost - the room was absolutely incredible with a great view. The hotel was cozy yet had exquisite dining options, furnishings, and plenty of activities. We ate dinner each night of our stay at the hotel and it was one of the best dining experiences we had in Iceland. The meals, the staff, the feel of the restaurant was all incredible. We LOVED the spa and went on the 2 hour horseback riding tour that was very relaxing. We even had the opportunity to stargaze and get a breathtaking view of the northern lights right outside the hotel (late September). The hotel staff was by far what makes this place so special. Every encounter we had was very pleasant and it is obvious they aim to make sure all guests feel right at home. Hotel Skalakot is a must stay if you are planning a visit - it is an amazing property and hotel, but most importantly is staffed by the most hospitable and friendly people in Iceland. We cannot wait to visit again!

Skalakot Manor was an absolute dream. My husband and I went back in September for our honeymoon and it is a place we will never forget. First off, the hotel itself was just gorgeous. You walked in and felt right at home. The staff was wonderful and so nice! They truly made the experience unforgettable. They even made sure to wake us if the Northern Lights were out. As for the food, we ate there every night because it was so good! Our room was very clean and just so cozy and pretty. The spa was beautiful and so relaxing. When we go back to Iceland, that’s the first place we are going to stay again. It made our honeymoon just incredible and will hold a special place in our hearts.
