Myself and a friend booked our Kilimanjaro Trek and Safari through Popote Africa Adventures and they made the process super easy from
Afar. We liaised mostly on WhatsApp and Sabino answered all my questions and made the booking really simple. All the porters and guides on the trek were amazing and ensure myself and my friend both made it to the top on summit night in time for sunrise! The safari was also fantastic and tailored to what we are looking for. Excellent service and would definitely recommend.

I recently embarked on an unforgettable journey with Popote Africa, climbing Kilimanjaro three months ago. From the outset, the experience was marked by seamless communication and exceptional service. Ascending Kilimanjaro was a breathtaking experience, made even more memorable by the expertise of my guide, Nemes. Nemes not only navigated the mountain's challenges effortlessly but also added a personal touch, making the journey emotionally resonant.

The support team, including the Rahmanda Porters, exhibited incredible athleticism and skill, effortlessly scaling obstacles to ensure my comfort. Their culinary prowess resulted in delectable meals, from mouth-watering pancakes to the best food I've ever tasted. The attention to detail extended to my accommodations, with a clean and ready tent awaiting me each day.

The camaraderie within the group was infectious, with everyone exuding positivity and genuine happiness. Every interaction felt like a warm welcome, contributing to the overall sense of community throughout the expedition.

Highly, highly recommend Popote for climbing Kilimanjaro and a Tanzania Safari! Booking and communication with Sabino and Cynthia was super easy. Our team for Kili was the best, our guides Stanly, Jackson and Felix were super knowledgeable and helpful, Joseph our chef made amazing meals every day and Nico made sure we ate and kept us laughing. All of the guys really went above and beyond to make sure we safely summited and to make the trip amazing, wouldn’t have wanted to do with it with anyone else.

Our safari was a very similar experience, Joseph our guide was the best, extremely knowledgable and amazing at spotting animals, we got to see a cheetah with 4 cubs, a rhino, many lions and just about everything else we could have imagined.

After spending time with everyone it was really clear going with Popote was the right choice, everyone had so many great things to say about working for Sabino/Popote, exactly the type of business you want to support and see grow.

We booked 6 days Machame + 3 days safari with Popote and we had a wonderful experience.
Since the beginning, communication was very clear with Sabino. Along the trip, Cynthia was very helpful and always responsive to our requests. Overall the team was great and very professional.
For the trekking, we were leaded by Dulla and Jackson. Since day 1, we really felt those two guys were the best guides we could have. They were very supportive and had a ton of knowledge to share. We made it all of them to the summit! And it could not be possible without the whole team. Also, big thank to the chef Joseph who cooked the best food even at 4000m.
The safari was also great. Our guide Mirage was very knowgeable. And we saw the big 5.

Unsere Tour Guides am Kilimandscharo, Harold und Alex, waren sehr erfahren und haben uns erfolgreich und sicher zum Gipfel geführt. Auch der Rest der Crew war großartig, wir hätten niemals mit solch einem köstlichen Essen am Berg gerechnet.

An incredible 7-days on Kilimanjaro, Lemosho route. Our guides Godwin and John were fantastic, knowledgeable and encouraging! The whole team were great fun and always smiling. The food and tents were perfect. We could not recommend Popote enough, it was a trip to remember!

Kili Climb and Tarangire Safari
Thanks to Sabino and his team at Popote Africa Adventures for an incredible stay in Tanzania. From being picked up at the Kili airport to being dropped off for my return flight, Popote catered to my needs. I chose the Marangu route up the mountain, otherwise known as the coca cola route, though I drank Milo instead. Florian is an excellent guide and Ombeni a considerate summit porter. On the safari, Saeed spotted animals such as a lizard in a tree that I missed seeing even with binoculars. He is very knowledgeable. Cynthia got bus tickets for me to and from Lake Victoria. Innocent also helped me in innumerable ways. I highly recommend Popote Africa Adventures.

Popote Tours was great, and if i EVER decided to hike Kilii again they'd be my first choice, and I highly recommend.

I was in Tanzania in late April which is it's rainy season, and due to poor visibility, slippery conditions, and lots of rain, not an ideal time to hike Mt Kilimanjaro, from what I researched. I felt unsure about going, but reached out to a few tour companies anyway, and Popote was one of few who actually responded, and with a suggestion of hiking the side of the mountain with less likelihood of rain. I reluctantly signed up for a 6day Rongai Route & Safari, and I'm so happy I did. Not only did I have an experience of a lifetime, and made it to the top, I had an amazing guide, Thaddeus, and support team, seven in total. As a solo female traveler I felt safe with my team, and by the summit they actually felt like brothers helping make one of my life dreams come true. I'm still in a space of gratitude and awe, so happy that the weather was decent, the camp food was delicious, I summited, and that I chose Popote.
One thing I caution about is if you rent gear double check it before packing it up for the trip.

Angekommen auf einem uns noch fremden Kontinent, wurden wir von Cynthia herzlichst am Flughafen empfangen und haben uns von der ersten Sekunde an wohl gefühlt. Angekommen in einem schönen Hotel, konnten wir uns erstmal ausruhen, bevor wir am nächsten Morgen das Briefing hatten. Hier wurde sorgfältig und gewissenhaft geprüft, ob wir perfekt ausgestattet sind, und fehlendes Equipment konnten wir ausleihen. Den Morgen drauf gab es ein leckeres Mittagsessen, bevor das Abenteuer dann losging.
Sollten wir uns nochmal dazu entscheiden, den Kilimanjaro zu besteigen, dann definitiv mit POPOTE! Von Anfang an wurden wir an die Hand genommen und in keiner Situation das Gefühl allein zu sein. Uns war nicht genau bewusst, auf was wir uns da einlassen, aber umso schöner war es als wir die Spitze des Kilimanjaros erklimmt haben. Das ist ein einmaliges Erlebnis, das jeder selbst erleben muss und wir können euch nur ans Herz legen, es mit dieser Organisation zu tun. Es gab nämlich kein Aufgeben, man wird von Anfang bis Ende motiviert durchzuhalten und mit allen Mitteln unterstützt. Jeder einzelne, vom Guide, zum Koch, zum Porter, war herzlich und voller Lebensfreude, die erfolgreich auf uns übertragen wurde. Das Essen war ein Traum, selbst auf etlichen Höhenmetern gab es das beste Essen, dass wir uns hätten erträumen können. Für jedes Problem hatten unsere Guides eine Lösung, sei es eine warme Jacke oder ein Riegel im Rucksack. Nemes und Godwin sind mit der Zeit Freunde für uns geworden, mit denen wir immer noch in Kontakt stehen und uns zusammen gerne an die großartige Zeit zurückerinnern. Zurückblickend können wir sagen, dass wir es ohne deren Unterstützung nicht dort hoch geschafft hätten, dafür sind wir mehr als dankbar.
Auch die Safari-Tour war super interessant und ist ein Muss für jede Tansania Reise. Man spürte die Begeisterung unseres Guides, Said, für diese wundervolle Natur und jedes einzelne Tier, vom Vogel bis zu den Big Five. Durch das Zelten in den Parks fühlt man sich mit der Natur noch enger verbunden.
Im Großen und Ganzen können wir sagen, dass unser Urlaub durch POPOTE der bisher schönste in unserem Leben war, und dafür sind wir mehr als dankbar. Falls ihr also auch nach einem einmaligen Erlebnis sucht, an das ihr euch ewig mit Freude erinnern wollt, solltet ihr genau dies tun.

This company delivered a lifetime Safari experience to our group. Everything was at or above expectation at all times. Amazing staff to whom we shall be forever grateful.

These guys are absolutely fantastic. We climbed Kilimanjaro on the 9 Day Northern Circuit and after went on 5 day safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater and everything was well organised from start to finish! A big shout out to Stanley and Innocent our guides and Willy who looked after us, always encouraging and joking with us, keeping spirits high and making sure we ate and drank enough every day to give us the fuel to get to the summit! Also on the Safari when we arrived the flights and migration Camp location had been moved to put us in the very best place to see the Wildebeest river crossings which we had explained beforehand was a priority for our safari. I can't praise these guys enough!

When we started, we discovered it was just the two of us and we were impressed by the organization and amount of person for just 2 people.

The team was all composed of local people who made our experience just perfect.
Our guides Stanly and Dulla were very friendly but at the same time professional, and they were the key to our success in reaching the peak!
Not to mention the super Chef Sadick who cooked for us the most amazing food (and we are Italian, so we know what we talk about ????)!

We recently completed the 7 day leshomo route with Popote and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The team look such good care of us. The food prepared on the hike was out of this world- we ate better on the hike than we do at home. Also, the team at Popote provided us with a portable toilet which was such a pleasant surprise. We were provided with hot water for washing and everyone on the team was so pleasant and helpful- I can’t imagine a better team or company out there. There were 4 of us in our group and they even provided us with 4 summit guides the day of the summit to ensure we were well taken care of. This company really cares about its customers and it shows every step of the way. If you are trying to figure out which operator to do Kilimanjaro with, Popote will exceed every expectation!!!! Book them, you will not be disappointed!!!!
